I have finally figured my printing problem. You can’t use User Defined and I finally found where you can set 17x22 paper. Only an hour wasted in total frustration.

But the up-side is that you've managed to become a member of the CiC online community - which just has to be a good thing.
So, welcome.
So that you don't continue to get people asking you what your proper name is, because most us use that on here, you can go to Edit Profile (under 'Forum Actions' on the Menu Bar), or you can just press on 'Settings' on the menu bar right up at the top right of the window. Once there you can enter the name by which you wish to be addressed under 'Real Name'. Then it will appear underneath your Username in all your posts. You can also enter your location so that it does the same, just as in my details alongside this message. Then we all know where everyone is in the world.
Hi, I'm Jo and I'm in the UK. I have been taking photos for about two years using my old Nex5 - slowly getting to grips with the manual controls. I try to take photos when I think I can get away with it without my family getting too tired of me either loitering to take a shot, or pointing a camera in their directions too often I have recently been asked to take photos at a friend's wedding, and I'm a little daunted so have decided to brush up. I have also recently bought a Nex7 second hand. I would really love it if some fellow photographers could critique my style and also my technique - in-camera and any processing options. I have posted some of my pictures onto Facebook for friends and family to see, but I would like some honest responses. Here is a link to a few of my favourite photos: https://www.flickr.com/photos/759393...7647399934149/ (hope the permissions are okay). I have to go now, but I will be back. Many thanks for taking the time to read this
Jo
Hello Jo and welcome to the CiC forum.
First thing: So that you don't continue to get people asking you what your proper name is, because most us use that on here, you can go to Edit Profile (under 'Forum Actions' on the Menu Bar), or you can just press on 'Settings' on the menu bar right up at the top right of the window. Now - Your request for C & C on your work. The best thing you can do on here is select individual images and post them up for Comment & Critique (C & C) on one of the two main C & C section of the forum (Nature & Architecture or People & Pets). To help you get the most from C & C, have a read of this thread. Sometimes people are not sure about asking for comments and criticism on their images.
On the subject of weddings, if you click on the 'Discussion Categories' tab on the menu bar above and then choose 'weddings' you'll find lots of previous discussions on the subject.
Hi Donald, thanks for the guidance. Believe it or not I did read the instructions, but thought I read somewhere that I could post a link to my images in this post? That's okay though and I will head on over to C&C. Thanks again
Jo - You did. But what that meant was that you don't actually post the images themselves into CiC. What you do by following the instructions, is post a link to your image that's hosted in Flickr (go the 'Share' symbol on Flickr) and then post the BB Code link that you see is available, into your CiC post, using the 'Insert image icon on the toolbar at the top of the messaging window. Then people here on CiC will see your picture, not just the link to your Flickr page.
Hi, I am Vic from the Philippines. I have known about CiC a long time ago. It is only now that I can allocate time for photography. I am currently using a NEX 7 and a Nikon D5000. I have read some of your articles and find time very helpful and enlightening.
Hopefully I will have more time to actively participate in your group.
Hello, Vic. It's great to have you here and I hope you enjoy being part of CiC.
If you haven't already done so, then please do read the helpful guide that walks you through how to get pictures into your posts on the forum. Click HERE to read the thread.
Something else you might find useful. Sometimes people are not sure about asking for comments and criticism on their images. This thread gives you some helpful advice and guidance about how to get the best feedback from fellow members.
Hi just joined CiC. Photography is a hobby that I've enjoyed for a number of years. Only got into digital recently and found I need to learn new things, which is great. I think CiC will benefit me to understand photography from a digital point of view as well as a good refresher of photo basics.
Hi Daniel; welcome to CiC.
I hope you find this site as useful as I have. I did my switch to "serious" digital photography about five years ago, and haven't looked back. I can do things I couldn't even begin to imagine doing with film; the cost of experimentation is virtually zero, so trying new things is just another aspect of the digital photography journey.
There are things for all levels of photographers here; tutorials, photo contest and advice and help from the members. I hope that you get as much out of CiC as I do!
Hi there, my name is John. I am a photographer based in Melbourne Australia. I developed a passion for photography a few years ago and bought a canon 600D. I have now done a few paid jobs and really want to step up and increase the quality in my work. I have not as yet found my niche style but I love portraiture and people. I am hopefully soon upgrading to at least a 5D mark iii. I want to learn as much as i can from anyone who is willing to share advice. Thank you for your time.
Welcome to CiC, John - There are a number of professional photographers on CiC that do contribute quite regularly as well as some amateurs who do professional level work, so there are plenty of people who could give you the kind of advice you are looking for.

Hi there
Glad I found Cambridgeincolour.com -- great site! I live in NSW Australia at Saratoga, which is a sleepy coastal village close to the hustle and bustle of Gosford and Erina.
Looking forward to learning so much more about my camera (Nikon D1500) and photography as a whole.
I just bought this camera from a friend who is upgrading -- and I am upgrading from Nikon Coolpix P90, although I didn't really take the time to learn about manual settings. Now I am ready
Landscapes and nature are my favourite pics and I would like to learn more about pano's and macro.
I also love looking at other people's photographs and I hope to post some that you enjoy as well.
Deb
Hi Deb - Welcome to CiC. I hope that we can help you move forward with your photography. You are going to find that going from a bridge camera like the P90 to a DSLR will feel somewhat familiar, yet different. Ultimately your new camera is going to give you a lot more control, but the basic skill set of composition and mechanical picture taking skills are what it takes to get a great looking image. I expect you are going to miss the 24x zoom, but the larger sensor is going to let you do things that the tiny sensor in the P90 could never achieve.
Just saying Hi and stuff, I'm definitely a casual photographer that wants to get better, and I've already looked at some of the tutorials on this site.
I found this site a few years ago, and just decided to join after reading a thread about jpg's compression and printing.
Hi All,
My name is Enrique and I'm from Argentina, currently I'm living near Buenos Aires,
I loved photography since I was a teenager (I'm 50 now) but it was not until some years ago that I decided to start studying photography. Although I'm an amateur photographer, I constantly look for new photo challenges. I love all kind of images, mainly with well defined colors and those images that tell something.
I share this “vice” with my elder daughter, who inherited my old Nikon D5000 when I bought my new Nikon D7100 (50's birthday present :-O)
Best regards,
EFA
Buenos dias Enrique, y bienvenido en Cambridge in Colour. Mi profesora de espanol es de Buenos Aires!
I'm glad you decided to join us. It sounds as though you have some good experiences that I hope you will share with us. I look forward to seeing some of your images in our forums.
It would be good if you could update your profile so that it tells us your name and where you live. That way, it will appear alongside each of your posts - you can see mine at the left of this post. This link tells you how if you need it Editing your profile.....
Best wishes,
Dave
Hello One and All,
Have been The American Legion, Department of Colorado State Photographer for nearly 10 years. Photography is a hobby and my volunteer work for the Legion.
Most of my photos, of course are, are actions or staged photos, award presentations etc. So to increase my ability I like to belong to groups like this to learn the ins and outs of this world of photography.
