Hi All i am new to the site, looking forward to joining in. Ianpen
I'm Luis from Spain. Many thanks for your admittance to this forum. I practice photography continuesly since seven years ago. First I had a little Nicon point & shot, then a Canon G12 and now I just bought a Canon G1X Mark II. In the begining it was hard to understand the menus of the digital cameras and i'ts configuration and now I know how to use the differents parameters, velocity, aperture, iso and so on. I like very much your tutos, they are deep but clear to understand even for an old man like me. I do appreciate the patience of those who
create them. I would like to help the spread out of this site. Thank again and sorry about my english writting.
Hello. And welcome. Thank you for signing up to the CiC forum. I hope you enjoy it.
So that you don't continue to get people asking you what your proper name is, because most us use that on here, you can go to Edit Profile (under 'Forum Actions' on the Menu Bar), or you can just press on 'Settings' on the menu bar right up at the top right of the window. Once there you can enter the name by which you wish to be addressed under 'Real Name'. Then it will appear underneath your Username in all your posts. You can also enter your location so that it does the same, just as in my details alongside this message. Then we all know where everyone is in the world.
Thank you, Luis, for deciding to join this forum. Your written English is very good and easy to understand.
I hope that you find the forum helpful. I also hope that you will post some of your pictures for us to see. If you ever need any help in getting images posted into your message, then please do read the helpful guide that walks you through how to do it. Click HERE to read the thread.
If you wish you can go to Edit Profile and put in your location, so that it appears in the sidebar alongside your message, just like mine beside this message. Then everybody knows where everybody else is.
Hi...
I'm new here, really interested in learning as much as I can about digital editing and printing. I'm so often struck by how different inkjet prints are from traditional darkroom prints and want to be able to make my printer images look as close as possible to darkroom images.
Peter - Great to have you here.
There are quite a few folks on here who print their own work. I'm sure you'll find plenty people who will join you in discussions about printing. And, of course, everyone has a view on the best possible post-processing workflow ... which is that their one is best!!
Hello - my name is Julia and I've joined your group today. Nice to meet you!
I first got into photography about 14 years ago when I got a SLR, but the first few years were a struggle on technical aspects. I kept practising, but it wasn't until I got a digital camera and started using editing software that it really made any sense. I still have a long way to go but I feel much more confident now that I understand the basics. And practising every day on my i-phone has been surprisingly helpful to me in understanding photography in general.
I love using the usual photo sharing applications, but whilst this is fun I want to get more constructive feedback on my photos - not just "likes" - so I can improve my work. It also seems like you guys share some interesting tutorials, so I think I can learn a lot from the community, especially the technical stuff. I work as an administrator in a film school and we talk about image and design a lot - so hopefully I can offer a little in the way of feedback on composition.
Hi, I am gaurav, from India. I am new to photography and love taking photos of landscapes and nature. I want to choose photography as a profession and looking forward to gain as much knowledge as possible. Hope to learn from you and other guys as well...
Hello & good evening to you all. Just joined, currently using a Canon 70d having just upgraded from a 550d which was my first DSLR, after using a Fuji finepix bridge camera for a number of years. Like taking photos of anything that takes my eye.
Living on the edge of the New Forest in Hampshire just on the outskirts of Southampton. All in all a wonderful place to take photographs.

Hi all,
My name is Graham and I am looking for help to improve my photography. I live on Christmas Island, a rugged and beautiful island with a diverse nature. I would say I am new to photography even though I have had an interest in it for many years but have not had the equipment to enjoy it until now. I have been taking an interest in the local bird life of the island and would like to get to a stage where my photos are worth framing and maybe selling. All help would be greatly appreciated.
Hello- I'm Nancy from Saugatuck, Michigan. I'm a bird photographer eager to learn from the experiences of others. Since June, 2013, I've written a weekly blog (www.NancyBirdPhotography.com) about how I go about observing and photographing a wide variety of wild birds. I've learned a lot about bird photography by sharing my field experiences with others. I'm hoping to learn more through this forum and meet other photographers and/or bloggers interested in photographing wildlife.
Thank you
It's great to welcome the first member, so far as I'm aware, from Christmas Island. So, a very warm welcome Graham.
I hope and think you've found the right online forum that will help you gain more knowledge and skills to help improve your photography. There's no such thing as a dumb question on here and I'm sure you'll find lots of people very willing to share their knowledge and experience.
By the way - If you wish you can go to Edit Profile and put in your location, so that it appears in the sidebar alongside your message, just like mine beside this message. Then everybody knows where everybody else is.
