Hello CIC community. My name is Fred and I am very impressed with your site. I enjoy landscape and nature photography, but find all kind of photography interesting. I am looking forward to interacting, enjoying your photos and learning from people who share this passion. I shoot with Nikon D7000, 18-55mm, 70-300mm.
Cheers.
Fred

Hello, Fred and thank you for your comment. It's great to have you here. I hope you enjoy being part of the forum and find that it helps you improve your photographic knowledge and skills.
Re: NEW MEMBER? please introduce yourself here
I just found this interesting looking site today while seeking advice on Canon wide-angle lenses. I am puzzling over the "EF 16-35mm f4 L IS USM " and the "EF 16-35mm f2.8 L MKII USM " for my 5DMK2. The differences I see are IS or not IS, price and specification. My main interests are wildlife - specially birds - and landscape. I already have a 100-400 L lens (which I use a lot) and the 24-105. I am interested to learn the benefits of a true wide angle lens for landscape work. I look forward to any comments you may have?
As a test I try to upload a lucky chance photo that I got last week.

David - Hello and welcome. Thank you for deciding to join the forum.
As to your questions. Can I suggest that you copy them into a thread in the Digital Cameras & Equipment section of the forum. Just go to that particular forum and up near the top left you'll see a tab '+Post New Thread.' Just click on that and away you go. It's by posting in there that you'll best reach those who will be able to comment and be interested in doing so.
As for posting a picture into a post on here, please do read the helpful guide that walks you through how to do it. Click HERE to read the thread.
Re: NEW MEMBER? please introduce yourself here
Hi,
This is one of the better, more informative and well-designed photography websites that I've come across. I'm trying to get back into photography after too many years away and too many years on "auto" setting in the digital age. I'm from the US, but I've been living in Cambodia for the last seven years, or so. I'd like to develop some ideas for photo essays and build my own website. I'm also learning Lightroom. So, please don't laugh if I ask dumb questions:)
Thanks
Andrew
Re: NEW MEMBER? please introduce yourself here
There are no dumb questions, Andrew. This is a learning site but also a very friendly one, so dig in and post, ask questions and I am sure it will be answered no matter what. And don't forget to also look at other topics here and respond to them. It helps in many ways too in the learning process to look at how others shoot photographs and commenting brings you more closer to the group in a friendly way.

Hello and welcome to the CiC forum. I hope you'll be around for a while and that the forum helps your learning and development.
As to your question, I'm afraid I don't know. But if you go into General Photography Discussion section, create a nedw thread and post in your question, I'm sure there will be someone on here who will be able to provide the answer.
So that you don't continue to get people asking you what your proper name is, because most us use that on here, you can go to Edit Profile (under 'Forum Actions' on the Menu Bar), or you can just press on 'Settings' on the menu bar right up at the top right of the window. Once there you can enter the name by which you wish to be addressed under 'Real Name'. Then it will appear underneath your Username in all your posts. You can also enter your location so that it does the same, just as in my details alongside this message. Then we all know where everyone is in the world.

Hello Beryl. Welcome to the CiC forum.
The best way to find out things is to ask questions. So please do open up a thread in the main sections of the forum and ask people for their help and guidance. We are all on this forum to help each other.

Hi, I'm Ray and after much reading and study have joined the world in the 21st with a DSLR. I have been interested in Photos for many years, and am pretty proficient with 35mm, but completely new to digital. I just purchased a well cared for EOS 50D from a friend , and look forward to new discoveries. Very glad to have found this friendly site.

Hi,
I am a new member from North Queensland, Australia. I enjoy photography and use an Olympus OMD-EM1 camera. I have had other Olympus cameras before this. I wouldn't say I'm a beginner but someone who is always trying to learn and progress.
I do have a Flickr page here.....https://www.flickr.com/photos/22064007@N04/ and hope I can learn more from your site.
Re: NEW MEMBER? please introduce yourself here
I live in Pune India. I came across this web site Cambridge In Colour by good fortune while searching for information. I bought a Nikon D5100 DSLR about 2 years ago. I had zero experience in photography at that time. So far I have been taking pictures at all sorts of occasions and on holidays. But I want to learn and understand what a good photograph should be. I hope to receive advice from members of the forum

Re: NEW MEMBER? please introduce yourself here
Hi everyone. My name is Freixo.
I'm glad to join CiC community and I hope learn in deep about digital photography. My favourites areas are sports and birds, but I enjoy clicking the shutter :) no matter what is front of the camera.
Greetings from Spain.
