Re: NEW MEMBER? please introduce yourself here
Hello! (I hope I am posting in the correct place.) I am a newbie to this group and I'm looking forward to learning from all of you. I live in Kentucky, USA. I'm a wife of 40 years to my wonderful husband, a mother of two great kids, and grandmother of six amazing grandchildren. I love animals and have recently taken up birding! I desire to learn how to take better bird photos. :)
Re: NEW MEMBER? please introduce yourself here
Great,
The place for you to post pictures is the Nature and Architecture forum.
One nice thing about this forum though is that if you set your link to Latest Threads you will see all of the latest posts in all of the forums.
This lets you see a lot of things that might strike your interest.
Have fun :)

Larry in my RV traveling the US and Canada. Right now I am in the southern part of the US and will be for a few more months until it gets too hot. Spring will find me somewhere in NM, CO and Utah, while fall leads me to Nova Scotia and the upper eight states. I shoot a Nikon D810 with an 80-400 Nikkor. I also use a 1.4 tele-extender, a 17-35mm Tokina, and a 35-70 Nikkor. On some occasions I dig out the Lee's and shoot some long exposures. Mostly I am into birds and animals though occasionally drift outside my own confort zone and shoot whatever strikes my pleasure.
Re: NEW MEMBER? please introduce yourself here
Well, there is an awful lot of scenery in the places you are headed.
I shoot a lot of landscapes waiting for the critters to show up.

Hi Nancy. It's a pleasure to welcome you onto the forum.
The thing I like about this forum is that even the most knowledgeable remember that they were once at the stage you are at now. It's all about learning and the sense that we have a responsibility to help each other learn. I hope you enjoy being involved.

Oh Larry, so much of me envies you for what you are doing. I don't think I'd have the b...,/guts to get up and do it.
Anyway, it's great to have you here on the forum and I hope you enjoy it.

Re: NEW MEMBER? please introduce yourself here
Well, a first post is a must and since I'm acquiring a taste for photography -started by my purchase of the lovely Lumix LX-7 - and finally blossomed by the discovery of this great website starting here seems appropriate.
As far as photography goes: I'm about as novice as they come, but I like to learn and I know damn well what I like.
Also, because of the handy tutorials here I'm quite confident of my technical knowledge as well as feeling familiar with the basics. So know the hardest part of the learning curve comes into view: getting better at what I like.
So far this is dominated by 2 things: my love for the golden hour (and the LX7's ability to capture the colours splendidly) and the LX7's superb abilities in macro setting, well for novice standards anyways.
After reading hungrily through the tutorials I feel it's time to share my pictures and hope to improve by the feedback from this great community.
Re: NEW MEMBER? please introduce yourself here
Warm welcome, Willem. I am sure you will enjoy this forum and the website here, lots of learning to do, sometimes so little time to take photos. :p But hey! you make friends by posting a comment on their posts too or ask questions or critique, it does not matter. It is entertaining as well as sharing knowledge. We are a friendly lot here...just dive in and join us.

Hello , my name is Raymond , I presently photograph most categories and use adobe elements for editing. I shoot with a Olympus E-620 and I am adding a Nikon D7100. I love to be able to get feedback as to learn from others. I lean towards a traditional approach in shooting and processing , this is that I rarely add or delete from the original photo , I will use various effects to enhance my perspective .Thank you for this opportunity.

Hello,
My name is Jon Suvada, I'm from northern Michigan and I'm a amateur photographer. My camera bag consists of a Nikon D7100, AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm 3.5-5.6, 55-300mm 4.5-5.6G VR and 35mm 1.8G. As you can see, I'm missing a wide angle lens and currently looking at a Tokina 11-16mm.......I like to photograph my family, friends and outdoors.
Here a sample of my work.

My name is H William and I live in a cute little A Frame home in the woods of West Michigan. I have 2 dogs, and 4 cats. I am 76, widowed a little over a year ago. Spend time in the woods photographing nature, writing, maintaining our church website and reading. Looking forward to interacting with many of you and enjoying your images. I photograph with a Canon T3 with the 18-55 and 55-250 lenses, Nikon D60 with the 18-55 and 55-200 lenses and a Panasonic Lumix FZ35. My main editing programs are Lightroom 5 and Photoshop CS-2014. I spent about 40 years shooting with film in 35 and 6x6-6x7 formats. I also did all of my own black and white darkroom work.
Re: NEW MEMBER? Please Introduce Yourself Here

Hi Jon,
I can't see your intended image, so you may find this helpful;
HELP THREAD: How can I post images here?
I got the Nikon 10-24mm when I was looking for an UWA lens, since I felt the extra range would be useful, I haven't regretted that decision, although I have never tried the 11-16mm and owners here are happy with theirs.
For ease of future reference, it would be great if you could click Settings (right at the top),
then Edit Profile (on left)
and put Jon in the Real Name field
and North Michigan, USA in the Location field.
this helps everyone give you more personal and relevant answers - thanks in advance.
Best regards, Dave

Hi H William,
That's quite a potted history there, not to mention a few different systems.
Could you also click Settings (right at the top),
then Edit Profile (on left)
and put your first name in the Real Name field please? - thanks in advance.
All the best, Dave
