New member posts: April 2014 to June 2020

I'm a new member from Maine in the U.S. I see there are folks from around the globe on this site, and I'm looking forward to reading threads and getting ideas on how best to use my Nikon DSLR. I've had it about two years now and am just now seriously learning how to use it. Previously, I used a Canon Point & Shoot that takes good macro shots, but I'm looking for more depth of field and great bokeh. I have a new macro lens coming today which should help with my macro photography. Any suggestions are greatly welcome.

Welcome aboard.

If you are looking for increasing DOF when going up to a DSLR you may have your work cut out for you.

This CIC tutorial will cover some of that information for you along with issues regarding other differences in sensor sizes.

Hello! New member from London. I got into photography two years ago after I got my first camera. I actually spent a good few weeks reading CiC tutorial articles before I bought my camera, and learnt a lot of things from this place. Just discovered that CiC has a rather active forum and now I've joined!

In terms of interest I have a particular thing for ultra-wide images, so that means a lot of architecture, landscape, cityscape. I am a Fujifilm user and a fan of the mirrorless movement.

Hi... Just dropped by to say Im new here, I've enjoyed reading the CIC articles and hope to be able to join in with the forum activity and competitions.... so pushing me further on with this fascinating hobby, ( I'm a Nikon shooter ). Thank you for joining the forum Kimara. That's a nice couple of images you've put up by way of introduction. In addition to the competition sections of the forum, the two main sections for posting images for comment are; 1) Nature & Architecture and, 2) People and Pets. So please do put your images in there so that many more people will see them and be able to comment.

Hi!!! folks. I have purchased a Nikon D5200 and am just getting back into photography after just using my little Sony on automatic for a few years. I have been interested in photography for many years (since the late 60's). Infact my first reflex was a Zenith followed after by my trusty Practica. My real interest is in Landscape and interesting shots of life. I now need to improve my manual knowledge to take my photos to the next level. I also

Indeed, Kenneth. And the trick sometimes is to be satisfied with what's 'good enough' and not torture ourselves with the constant striving for that perfection. But it's no bad trait to possess.
