Michelle - Thank you for deciding to join the CiC forum. I hope you find it helpful as well as being fun. I've written before that the one thing I think is good about this forum is that people don't forget that they were once just at the stage you are at now - Just starting to learn and finding a lot of words and phrases very strange.
On some forums I believe people sort of forget that and can be quite rude to beginners. That's won't happen on here. If it ever did, the person being rude wouldn't be in the forum for very long. There is no such thing as a dumb question on here. If you don't ask, you don't find out.
If you ever need any help in getting images posted into your message, then please do read the helpful guide that walks you through how to do it. Click HERE to read the thread.
Something else you might find useful. Sometimes people are not sure about asking for comments and criticism on their images. This thread gives you some helpful advice and guidance about how to get the best feedback from fellow members.

Welcome, Grant. Great to have you on board.
I hope you find this a useful resource to help you reach whatever it is you want to achieve in photography.

Thank you for joining the CiC forum. I hope you find it useful as well as fun. If you have any questions, please just call out. There's always someone around who'll know the answer, or at least give you an opinion.
So that you don't continue to get people asking you what your proper name is, because most us use that on here, you can go to Edit Profile (under 'Forum Actions' on the Menu Bar), or you can just press on 'Settings' on the menu bar right up at the top right of the window. Once there you can enter the name by which you wish to be addressed under 'Real Name'. Then it will appear underneath your Username in all your posts. You can also enter your location so that it does the same, just as in my details alongside this message. Then we all know where everyone is in the world.

Jack - It's a pleasure to welcome you to the forum. I hope you enjoy it.
There have been a couple of folk on here who have shown surfing pictures. If you're out there doing it, it might be a little difficult to capture photographs at the same time.

Hi Rob, and a warm welcome.
I'm afraid you have been shamefully neglected with no reply to your introduction.
I had a look at your site, and I can see how you mean about merging photography and painting - lovely images. I do hope you'll be sharing some more of your photos, and talking about your technique.
Best regards,
Dave

Hi Bernard, and a warm welcome. There are quite a few retirees here - it sure beats working, at least in my opinion. Glad you've found it useful, and I can see you've made a few posts. Looks like you are and "old" new member though, with a date of 2011 :) Hope to see you around the forums,
Dave

Re: NEW MEMBER? please introduce yourself here
Hi! Im not a new member per say but I haven't been on in years. As with everyone here I love photography and art
I have an older Canon 20D camera but love it and have some decent glass for it.
I live in Ontario and was involved with the local camera club When it folded I decided to start my own and with four others we started the Grand River Imaging and Photographic Society or GRIPS for short. Its going strong with over 100 members and although I've not been able to participate in the past few years I am proud of what has all been accomplished.
I'm looking forward to getting back into photography and I still have a lot to learn
Re: NEW MEMBER? Please Introduce Yourself Here
Hello everyone!
My name is Corin from Florida. A few years ago my husband bought me a Nikon J1 for Christmas and well that's where this all begins. I am still new to photography and learning as I go, but I do love it. I am happy to have a forum in which to ask questions and soak up information. Hope to chat soon!

Re: NEW MEMBER? please introduce yourself here
Hi Guys, from Hamilton, New Zealand. Really looking forward to being part of this great community; I don't know why I haven't done it a lot sooner! Over the past couple of years I have been slowly establishing a landscape photography business and have a modest gallery at home; a converted rustic garden shed. I have been inspired by photography and so many great photographers most of my life and enjoy reading about the successes and challenges of others involved in this artform. I hope that I can share some of my own in these forums. Regards John
