I'm retired and live on the WestCoast of Canada. I'd like to get into birds and people; the former seem much more approachable than the latter though.
Welcome to CiC...We would enjoy your company here with us as much as you will enjoy being here with us. Yes the Reply Button is the right one to use if you will join us in any of our conversation or upload an image or two and ask for either comment or critique or both (C&C). Please be kind enough to enter the country you live in so all of us will be able to know. It is also helpful if one day you decided you need help on some things and somebody will/can advise you where to go near your area of residence.
Please do join us in our conversation...and again, welcome to CiC.

I take photos of my garden to post on line, more importantly photo of insects that I want to id. The closeup on my p500 and I do not get along. This will be a question for another time "Any help for me?"
It was great to find your site when searching for a solution on what to do with an old portrait 1914 that was framed in an oval shape and dome glass. The photo has taken the shape of the dome glass. I need to make copies of it for other family members and I am not sure about what to do. Thank you for any help.
Hi Elizabeth...welcome to CiC...it will be nice if you will go back to your profile button located at the top of this page (MY PROFILE) and fill in your country of residence and the name you wanted us to call you by. We don't usually call each other here via their user names but a nickname or a first name will be appreciated.
Please do upload your image to share or show us and ask for a C&C (comments and critique) and someone, somebody, anybody...many bodies...oooppppsss, read that as many knowledgeable members, will likely offer you help on what you wanted to.
Again, welcome to CiC...we are glad you joined us.

Wow, that wasn't as easy as it should be. There's too much diversity in all the technology we now use!

Re: NEW MEMBER? please introduce yourself here
Hi Guys
I found CIC when I was searching for some tutorials and forums and just to get to know some people who shared my hobby.
I first started about 10 years ago when I was given a Fujifilm point and click and about 5 years ago I bought a Nikon D3000 as I wanted to be more creative with my pictures, I enjoy all sorts of photography, especially landscape and action photography.
Re: NEW MEMBER? please introduce yourself here
Hi Mark (I guess!),
Welcome on board, and thanks for joining. There are lots of people here who share your hobby, from just about every corner of the globe. We are all about learning and sharing, so jump right in. I see you have already entered a mini competition - that's a good way of getting some anonymous feedback on what folks think of your work. If you want some more guidance, try posting in one of the main forums (Nature and Architecture, or People and Pets), ask for C&C and if possible say what you are looking for.
Hope to see and hear more from you,
Dave
Re: NEW MEMBER? please introduce yourself here
Hi, I'm Chen. I decided to join this forum as it seems to have a great, photography oriented community. Plus, the tutorials have helped me a lot in learning about various photography and post processing techniques. My primary interest is nature photography. People and animals are a close second. I own both a canon 60d and a Samsung nx3000 but these days I vastly prefer the nx3000 due to the faster focusing in live view and lighter weight. Hope I have fun and learn lots here. Thanks.
Re: NEW MEMBER? please introduce yourself here
I am not into photography for the reason of having the best and most desirable bit of kit.. or because I seek to know every possible setting and way to take a photograph. So I am not an expert.. I just like taking photo`s of a particular kind.. especially panoramic images made using stitching software. so don't expect me to understand all the f numbers or iso numbers or the difference between telephoto and zoom I cant help you.. I know some things that's all. :)http://www.incony.org

Hi I'm Elisha (Male)
I live in Israel. I started taking photos as a kid with almost a "box" camera. Later I have done my own developing and printing. I have abandoned all this due to my job and lack of time, but still use my camera a lot in travelling and other.
Now I use a Lumix FZ 200 which I recently purchased and it has a problem, (or maybe I have) and I would need help.
Thanks
Elisha

Hello Chen and welcome to this forum. I hope you do have fun and learn lots from being part of CiC.
So that you don't continue to get people asking you what your proper name is, because most us use that on here, you can go to Edit Profile (under 'Forum Actions' on the Menu Bar), or you can just press on 'Settings' on the menu bar right up at the top right of the window. Once there you can enter the name by which you wish to be addressed under 'Real Name'. Then it will appear underneath your Username in all your posts. You can also enter your location so that it does the same, just as in my details alongside this message. Then we all know where everyone is in the world.

Good. Such people are usually very boring.

Fine. But the only thing to consider about that is if and when you do learn and understand these things, you will find you have many, many more options open to you in terms of picture-taking opportunities and you will get much more pleasure out of being able to master the techniques that allow you to make pictures that would not otherwise be possible.

Hello Elisha. Thank you for choosing to join this forum. I hope you enjoy it and find it useful.
As for that 'problem' why not post a message into the 'Digital Cameras' section of the forum, explain to people what the problem is and what you have tried to do to fix it. And ask fro any suggestions.

Hi, My name is Chris Bloom from Australia. I am an entomologist with a passion for bush walking and have an interest in landscape and macro photography, particularly of insects in natural settings.
Re: NEW MEMBER? please introduce yourself here
Hi my name is Paul I used to be a member here but for some reason or another I left, but after a friend at my camera club was talking about the site, I thought I would have a look around again and rejoin. I am from East Lancashire I have been a hobby photographer for about 5 years or so. I love photography in all forms and I have had a bash at most forms except Macro.
I am looking forward to posting and getting involved with this great website and making some good friends on here, I can't think of anything else to add at the moment.
Paul.

It's a pleasure to have you here, Chris. I hope you enjoy being part of this forum and find it a helpful source of learning.
By the way - If you wish you can go to Edit Profile and put in your location, so that it appears in the sidebar alongside your message, just like mine beside this message. Then everybody knows where everybody else is.

Re: NEW MEMBER? please introduce yourself here
G'day, I came across this site by accident to be honest after googling something about "sharpness" and was led to one of the tutorials. I started looking through some of the other tutorials and then some of the forum topics and the rest is history.
I'm looking forward to contributing and being part of this forum.
Regards John.
