Alok - That is a very good introductory image to the forum. I hope we will see many more over coming months and on into the future.
It's my pleasure to welcome you to the CiC forum. I hope you find that being involved is not only enjoyable, but helps you improve your photographic knowledge and skill.

Hello, Skip. Great to have you here.
First thing - So that you don't continue to get people asking you what your proper name is, because most us use that on here, you can go to Edit Profile (under 'Forum Actions' on the Menu Bar), or you can just press on 'Settings' on the menu bar right up at the top right of the window. Once there you can enter the name by which you wish to be addressed under 'Real Name'. Then it will appear underneath your Username in all your posts. You can also enter your location so that it does the same, just as in my details alongside this message. Then we all know where everyone is in the world.
There area few folk on here who specialise in macro work. All of them will, I know, be happy to share knowledge, experience and skills with you to help learning. By the same token, your contributions will in turn help others. That's what this forum is all about.

Hello! My name is Theresa and I am a grandmother who loves photography. I started late in 2009, but somehow feel that I have not really captured the essence of what I want to say with my pictures. I have read lots of information on the web and taken tons of pictures, but I really need someone to critique the pictures to help me become a better photographer. I appreciate your constructive criticism and look forward to exchanging photographic views with you.

And as for your images, then please do0 get posting. I think you'll find that, on here, people will work hard to give you the sort of constructive comments that will help you learn and improve. By the same token, if you see pictures by other people and want to ask something about how or why they did whatever it is they did, then just ask.
Re: NEW MEMBER? please introduce yourself here
Thanks, Donald. I think I have already done that.

This is very much a resource for learning. There are people with lots of gear and many with not so much. It doesn't matter, so long as what people want to to do is develop their photographic knowledge and skills.

Welcome to the forum,. Hope you enjoy being involved and that, as well as learning from colleagues, you will use your obvious knowledge and skill to help others improve their photographic abilities. That is what this forum is very much about.
Re: NEW MEMBER? Please Introduce Yourself Here
In Yosemite you will be aware of walking in the shoes of Ansel Adams, and will understand why he spent so much of his life photographing this mountain range. The opportunities for subjects are endless.

Hi my name is Ynez and I live in Alaska.
My idea of photography is evolving from click and post to compose, capture, process, analyze, debate, self-critique, self-doubt and post anyway. I want to take compelling, amazing, gorgeous images. I have a TON of learning to do.
This September I started using RAW and the learning curve just got bigger in the post-processing department, needles to say 95% of it is knew to me.
Cambridge In Colour looks like a place I could get some feedback and do a ton of learning.
Thank you

Hello Ynez and welcome to the CiC forum.
Based on that first, introductory image you've posted, you certainly know how to put an image together. That's really nice.
Great to have you here. I hope you enjoy being on the forum and that it dies help you improve your knowledge and skills. The whole idea of CiC is to help people learn.

Hi everyone, I'm Linda and I live in Calgary, Alberta. I shoot with a Canon 7D Mark ii, as I'm lucky enough to live within close proximity to the Rocky Mountains, that's where I spend a lot of my time shooting landscape and wildlife. I'm by no means what anyone would call a professional, but with practice I'm getting much better. Looking forward to meeting new people in the forums and gaining some knowledge.
