Hi, I'm Harold.
Howduhyuh like me so far :p
Just moved from the shadows of the grand Tetons to the valleys of the Umpqua, we are loving this 40 to 70 degree winter compared to -20 back home.
So many photo opportunities.
Always looking for new inspiration, I do believe I may find it here. :)

Hello Harold ... and I certainly hope that you do. Great to have you 'on board' CiC.
So that you don't continue to get people asking you what your proper name is, because most us use that on here, you can go to Edit Profile (under 'Forum Actions' on the Menu Bar), or you can just press on 'Settings' on the menu bar right up at the top right of the window. Once there you can enter the name by which you wish to be addressed under 'Real Name'. Then it will appear underneath your Username in all your posts. You can also enter your location so that it does the same, just as in my details alongside this message. Then we all know where everyone is in the world.

Hello Everybody. I live in British Columbia and started seriously dabbling in Photography starting late in life (71) I love to look at all of the tutorials, guidance, discussions and feedback on this site. Birds, Birds in Flight, and Landscapes are the passions that pursue me. Thanks for the schooling. Donald does a wonderful job on keeping this all together.

Oh, Joseph, I am but one small cog in the wheel. All of the members, the three moderators (Myself, Dave Humphries and Manfred (GrumpyDiver)), and site owner and author of the tutorials and fixer of all know problems, Sean McHugh (McQ) are what make CiC the resource that it is.
It's great to have you here and I hope you find it enjoyable as well us helpful. Remember - the only dumb question is the one you don't ask.
Re: NEW MEMBER? Please Introduce Yourself Here
Hi - I am mikerowan, a new member, though I have been lurking for some time. Just bought a Nikon D7100 with 35mm/1.8G and intend to develop my skills (and lens arsenal) in my retirement.
My background in photgraphy is as a camera mechanic in UK (K G Corfield, Photopia, Japanese Cameras and self employed). In Australia involved in film only.
My only problem at the moment is knowing the best way to handle NEF files on OSX10.6. Am now looking at Photoline.
Cheers, and thanks to the administrators and contributors for their interest.
Mike
Re: NEW MEMBER? Please Introduce Yourself Here
Hi Mike, and welcome to CiC. I hope that you enjoy it here. I'm not sure where you are located now - could you update your profile to show your general location. Apart from being nice to know, it can be helpful when folks are offering advice.
There's plenty of software to process .nef files, starting with Nikon's own. What other products are you considering?

Hello all. I am an amateur-pro photographer from Texas. Pro as I have been paid for some wedding, real estate and air to air photography but still amateur as I rely way to much on auto settings. :) I am ready to take it to a higher level now. I am waiting for my new DSLR to arrive next week. A Nikon D5300 with an 18-55mm, NIKKOR 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR, Opteka 6.5mm f/3.5 HD Aspherical Fisheye and an Opteka 420-800mm HD Telephoto Zoom. I am currently using a 8MP Canon EOS Rebel XT. I began photography in the early 80's while in the military in Germany. Film camera of course. I did a lot of Air to Air and Air to Ground photos as a helicopter crew chief. I need to learn how to use my system manually to get the most out of it and that is why I am here at Cambridge Colour. Thanks for letting me join up. I look forward to interacting with y'all. (This photo is an example from a recent photographic outing)

Hi all!
My name is Maurizio. I am an amateur Italian photographer mainly interested in nature, city and abstract shoots.
A Nikon D7100 is my camera and I use a couple of Tamron zooms.
Re: NEW MEMBER? Please Introduce Yourself Here
Hello Everyone. My name is Jonathan and I am a 3rd generation photographer. Although I only picked up the craft about a year ago I learned a ton from my Father and Grandfather. I'm here to further my knowledge base on the subject, receive feedback on my work, and to be a part of a photographic community. I appreciate any and all feedback. If I am to grow, I need other perspectives besides my own. Thank you!

Hi everyone, I Valery, ordinary gay from Moscow, Russia. My English is not at the highest level. But I'm trying.
For a while I worked as a photographer in the company that sells fabric for curtains. I'm a little tired to photograph only the fabric pieces. So now I don't work htere, and I have so much time to find myself, to improve composition skills, picture people.
I hope I can find here something that will inspire me, something new and important.

Hello Valery. Your written English is very good.
I hope you find Cambridge in Colour a useful source of information and assistance. Everyone on this forum knows that the reason for its existence is to allow people to share knowledge and skill so that we can each learn from our colleagues and therefore improve out photography.
Good to have you here on the forum.

Rodney - It's a pleasure to welcome you to the forum. I think/hope one of the things you'll find on this forum, which apparently you don't see on some other forums, is that even the most experienced and skilful people on here remember that they were once beginners and at the stage of learning that you are now at. So, please, never be nervous about asking questions. The only stupid question is the one you don't ask.

Re: NEW MEMBER? Please Introduce Yourself Here
Hello all new friends,
I am from Denmark. The city is Helsingør (Elsignore), the town of Hamlet ;-)
I recently joined the local Photoclub hoping that this will challenge my photography and help my taking my hobby to a new level. I need to learn a lot more about capturing photos, develloping and postprocessing digital pictures. I hope to learn a lot from this site and expect to use the forums to exchange information with other members.
I live a couple of month each year in the south of france enjoying the nature, outdoor life and the friendly people.
My english is better than my french. But as you can see not perfect.
I use Nikon, the small and inexpensive models like D40 and D3200. With zoom kit lenses 18-55 and 55-200. Travel lite.
