Hello all,

My name is Wanda and I am a photographer and the president/chairman/founder of the Route 7 Artisan Fellowship here in Blackey, Letcher County, Kentucky, USA. I have been married to my best friend since 1988. We have 2 sons and with natural and step grandkids we have 11 in total and one on the way.

I currently shoot with a Nikon D3000 and a Canon T3i. I am not brand loyal as you can see. I also own 2 point and shoot cameras that I carry with me all the time just in case.

I am the official photographer and videographer for the Bluegrass group Will Caudill & Route 7 and I have had the honor of designing 2 CD covers and interiors for this group and also designing the cover for another CD for a gentleman who has passed away. My photos have been used on the cover of 3 books authored by Ancil Davenport and also by the Battle of Leatherwood Reenactment Committee on their publications and advertisements.

I look forward to learning more with and from you all!

I had not heard of Route 7 (perhaps nor surprising from the UK!) so I did have a listen on YouTube. I do like bluegrass, though the nearest I have been to Kentucky is Tennessee, but I very much enjoyed the performances. The banjo player deserves a shout out, too!

booking in from Liverpool UK I use D3100. other Camera's: Fuji HS30EXR Canon 350D & VivitarXV2

I am closing in on 70 years old, semi retired, and a rank amateur photog. I am married almost 50 years and have 4 kids and 8 grandkids. Currently living in the Redmond, WA after a move from Wyoming about 6 years ago.

I took up digital about two years ago and am self teaching myself the photo side, LR, and Photoshop. I enjoy compositing and have played with digital painting. My original mission was to scan 5000 old film photos, slides, and negatives accumulated over the years and quit moving tons of photo-books. That led to organization (learn LR) and clean them up (PS+LR) which led to get a DSLR and here I am. It feels like I have added about 10,000 photos to the library and not one damn one of them would start to make it on 500px. I have a noise problem (and other issues). I am sure that it is due 99.999% to me but have read that my camera (Canon 70D) has issues with noise. However, I know it is not the tools it is the carpenter and I know this site is going to help. I love the focus on concepts in the tutorials and cannot wait to start learning from the group and possible get some straight up critique of an image sometime.

My name is darrow, I am 59, Canadian. I do maintenance in 2 apartment buildings. I started in photography about 5 years ago but shoot mainly in the summer months. I use a canon T1i with kit lenses and an assortment of manual focus film camera lenses. I am purely a hobby & fun shooter! I'm sure from reading some profiles that I will have a great many mentors to learn from. :)

Hello Mike, and welcome to our community. I think your profile would fit a few of us!

If you are having issues with noise (or anything else for that matter) the best way is to post the image in one of the main forums, and ask for C&C. Don't be shy - we are a friendly and constructive lot here. I know I have learned a lot from some of the really excellent photographers here.

Greetings all!
My background is a bit different. I use Photoshop and artist's tool in conjunction with 3d graphics programs. I create texture maps for characters and use Photoshop to customize skin and other textures. I also use Photoshop to do "post-work" on 3d rendered images.

My name is Boni, I am a lifetime artist with both traditional methods and digital. I have a visual impairment that makes it helpful to use Photoshop and other software to take off where my traditional art training and experience leave off. I use Photoshop for 3d texturing ... photo enhancing as well as post-render work from 3d creations. Been doing this for about 15 years and Like to enhance and create artwork using Photoshop. I hope to learn new things here.

there are lots of very talented people here who use Photoshop. Once you start posting pictures and questions I'm sure you will find responses.

Hello Adam, and a very warm welcome. Learning from each other, and sharing, is what we are all about so you've come to a good place.

Alot of us here are interested in travel, from people, to landscapes, to wildlife (which my own particular interest), so if you are looking for tips or ideas there should be plenty of both. Of course, it's a lot easier to go abroad from the UK than from Iowa! There are probably ten European capitals nearer to me than you are to the ocean :)

Certainly check out the tutorials, and I hope you can show us some images, too.

Hi! I am Abhijeet from India. Creativity; be it written or visual, always fascinates me. Due to pressing demands of career, not able to devote much time into what I always wanted and Photography is one of the things. It all started with smart phone. Very convenient, easy and exciting. But mobile photography has its limit and boundaries. So I have invested in a DSLR, a Nikon D5300. Now I want to take my passion to the next level.
