Hello all. I am Steve Schwartz.
Hello, Steve, and welcome to CiC. Must be an interesting time to be a climate scientist! I know little about the science of clouds, but I follow what's currently happening with arctic ice cover with considerable surprise and alarm.
We don't have technical forums as such, but there are quite a few members who I think would be interested in joining a discussion. The best thing would be to post in the General Photography Discussion forum where more will read it than here.
Other than that, I look forward to seeing some of your canoe based images.
Best regards,
Dave

Re: NEW MEMBER? Please Introduce Yourself Here
Hello all... never posted here but have lurked on and off for a number of months now. Live in Ontario, Canada and caught the photography bug only last year. Bought a Sony A6000 to try "photography" and have been hooked ever since... some 18,000 shutter activations since. Kit lens 16-50, 55-210 and the 50 mm 1.8 prime. Just recently decided that I have never shot a "mirror" camera, never shot a Canon or a NIkon. So bought a used Canon 40D for a couple hundred and bought the 55-250 telephoto zoom. Ironically I just took up bird/wildlife shooting and at 51 years old my hearing is very bad and my eyesight is failing. Perfect time for this new passion!
Re: NEW MEMBER? Please Introduce Yourself Here
Hello everyone! I am Arnstein (60) from Skien, Norway.
I bought my first SLR in 1971, and my first digital camera in 1998. I love both the "shooting experience" and the post processing part of photography. Nature and wide angle lenses is my preferences. I also like technical challenging work, like panoramas/mosaics, focus stacking, HDR. Photoshop fan since the 90's. Fond of plug-ins like Google Nik Collection and Topaz. Maybe too fond of it, many would say..:)
I'm still happy with my 8 year old Canon 5D MkII. Have two Canon L-lenses (17-40 f/4 & 70-200 f/2.8), two Sigma (15mm f/2.8 diagonal fisheye & 100 mm f/2.8 1:1 macro) and a Peleng 8 mm fisheye.
I have uploaded a few of my favourite images to an album in this forum. Here is a collage of them, hopefully showing my main interests within photo/manipulations.

Hello Arnstein. A warm welcome, and an apology for the delayed welcome. I'm pleased to see that you have jumped into the forums.
Those are very fine images that you have shown us, and I look forward to seeing more of your work.
Best regards, Dave.

Hello everyone, I'm Ray from Trinidad and Tobago. I am delighted to be a part of this forum. I studied photography at NYIP from 2011-2014 and I am excited, I am here to learn.
Re: NEW MEMBER? Please Introduce Yourself Here
Back to photography. I've been away from this hobby for too long so this is my re-incarnation so to speak. My interests are scenics, flowers and nature in general. I have lots to learn about digital, my last camera was the Canon f1n. Will use primarily wide and super wide angle lenses.

Hello Ray, and a warm welcome to CIC - delighted that you've decided to sign up. We don't have many members from Trinidad - in fact you may be the only one!
If you are here to learn then you have come to the right place, because that is what CiC is all about. I hope you enjoy being a member, and I look forward to hearing more from you.
Dave

Hi Andy, and welcome back to photography! It's certainly changed a lot since film days, but from our point of view there is barely a bad camera out there now, it's just a case of picking what suits you the best. There are many excellent nature photographers here, so it's a great place to share pictures and ideas.
Which Quincy are you from? There are an awful lot out there :)
Regards, Dave

Hi Jerry,
Welcome to the CiC forums from me.
Sounds like you're quite experienced!
As an engineer (albeit telecomms and broadcast TV), I do have an innate interest in the technology (especially of things like LCAC) - interesting times no doubt.
All the best, Dave
Re: NEW MEMBER? Please Introduce Yourself Here
Thanks Dave, In Jane's fighting Ships if you see the Jeff A, Jeff B, or LCAC 1 they should be my images. Also in the late 90's my assignment was to photograph the worlds first moch 10.rocket salad, sounded like a ricochet!

Hello, I am Anupama. I joined this forum a few days back. I am, to put it mildly, an amateur. I hope to learn from you and in due course learn to capture images that are not just beautiful but tell a story. I look forward to your feedback and inputs. Thank you for having me.
Re: NEW MEMBER? Please Introduce Yourself Here
AnuV, thank you, It is an honor to be considered someone who can offer insight to others. Thank goodness I am at a point in my life where I no longer depend on making a living with my craft. I am returning to a true amateur and can fully enjoy creating images without having to worry about my client. Create as often as you can, look until you see.
