Hello Randy! Welcome to CiC - I'm pleased you finally decided to sign up.My name is Randy and I reside in a suburb of Chicago.
We all have something to learn and something to offer, that and the attitude of the members is what makes it a great community to be a part of. There are lots of nature and wildlife enthusiasts here (I'm one of them) as you have probably seen while you've been following us.
Post processing is a funny business - most either love it or hate it. Maybe the darkroom was the same, I don't know because I never did any, apart from some micrography like yourself, optical and electron, but that was decades ago. Me, I enjoy it, but then it also passes the time while it's raining, which it does rather a lot here.
Cheers,
Dave
Thanks for the warm greeting, Dave. I, too, also did electron microscopy work decades ago, using both Zeiss and Siemens TEMs. My darkroom work was primarily developing the negatives I took and then printing the micrographs.
I look forward to contributing to the forum and learning how to improve both my camera and post-processing skills.
All the best,
Randy

Hi Gerhard, and a warm welcome to CiC. I had to look up Nelspruit on the map. Looks like you are right on the door step of Kruger and the other game places - paradise for a wildlife shooter. I have travelled quite a lot in Africa (I am also very interested in wildlife), but not not so much in South Africa. I did once travel on an overland truck from Harare to Cape Town many years ago, which was quite epic.Hi I am Gerhard from Nelspruit in South Africa. My passion is wildlife photography
Look forward to seeing some of your wildlife shots,
Cheers,
Dave

Hello, New to the site. I am photographing only small jewelry items for my shop with a canon Rebel T1i. I have been told a tilt shift lens is my best bet to accomplish full depth of field. If that is true, what mm is best 24 or 45?
Thank You
Kevin Pugh
