Hi photographers,
My name is Daniel Hens and i'm a based photographer in Belgium.
I like to participated on this forum as much as possible.
My photographic level is not bad , not good ... for me i like always to improve myself an hope to find here the tools to do so.
particular in the activity of panoramic photography.
my believe is not what you photograph, but how you take the photograph. Second, i like to steal with my eyes and i love to see you'r work to learn from it.
Thanks for the welcome Dave! I am fine and am indeed here to focus on the photography (BTW, we have almost identical kit, other than that I don't have a macro lens and no D5000 - traded my D3200 body for the 7100). I posted the lament 'cos as I know from participation in other fora/forums there are great conversations to be had that do depend on your computing and editing stuff (FWIW mine consists of a MacBook Pro 9,2; Aperture; and Affinity Photo). There's nothing wrong with being a Windows+PS+LR user, it's just that I'm not one and therefore can't join in those specific conversations.
Hi Daniel, and a warm welcome to CiC. Delighted that you have joined up.My name is Daniel Hens and i'm a based photographer in Belgium.
We are all about learning from each other, so I think you have come to the right place. You'll certainly see many examples posted in the main forums, and I hope we will see some of your images, too.
Best regards,
Dave
Hi,my name is Mojgan.
Hi Mojgan, and welcome. Can you tell us a bit more about yourself.
Dave
Mike from UK.
35mm SLR user way back, forgotten it all now. Been using point and shoot digital for some years now recently using a bridge, not impressed. Second hand Pentax on its way. see what happens
Hi David from Devon still happily using my old Konica TC bought in '82, finally joined the digital world 3/4 months ago buying a Sony Cyber-Shot DSC H400 which I'm beginning to get to grips with. My first main goal at the moment is trying to capture birds in flight but wondering what speeds would be needed and how to get the settings right. My second goal is to experiment with filters to try to obtain the same type of abstract impressionism of painters like Monet but no idea where to find them....
Thanks

Hi,
I'm Mike and live in New Zealand with my wife and 8 cats. I have been involved in photography for 50 years but only as an amateur. My primary interest is astrophotography for which I recently purchased a 300mm f/5 telescope. I am a die hard Pentax user. I'm hoping to branch out into macrophotography as soon as I can unpack the boxes left from the last move. I hope to be able to take an active part in this community. Cheers.
Howdy! I am Deborah (Deb) Farmer from Argyle, Texas - about 20 miles northwest of Dallas. My husband and I live on 200 acres which we share with wild turkeys, deer, bobcats, and many other country critters. Great subjects for photography. This is my first forum. Looking forward to sharing my photos and gaining knowledge from this site and other photographers. Enjoy the day!

Great to have you here, Mike. Thanks for joining. I hope you find this forum both helpful and enjoyable.
By the way - If you wish you can go to Edit Profile and put in your location, so that it appears in the sidebar alongside your message, just like mine beside this message. Then everybody knows where everybody else is.
Hello David and welcome to the forum.
On the birds in flight issue, there are a few people on here who specialise in that genre. Me? I've tried it and been a complete failure! It needs lots of practice. But those folks will be happy to offer advice and guidance. Just post a question into the Nature & Architecture section of the forum and I'm sure they'll find it.
I hope you can as well Mike. welcome to the CiC forum.
You may well have already discovered that if you hit the 'Discussion Categories' tab on the menu bar above, there is a section for 'astrophotography'. Can't guarantee that it's got every thread ever posted in it the list, because some people don't add a tag.
Deb - It is a pleasure to welcome you and thank you for deciding that CiC would be your first dip into a photography forum. CiC is very much about learning and about people on here helping each other to improve their photographic knowledge and skills. There are people of all skills and abilities and the only thing that you need to remember is that the only dumb question is the one you never ask.
By the way - If you wish you can go to Edit Profile and put in your location, so that it appears in the sidebar alongside your message, just like mine beside this message. Then everybody knows where everybody else is.

Good day to all from Ottawa Canada
I have been a lurker for many years and truly enjoyed the tutorials and comments. I have my own photo studio and photograph weddings, boudoir, landscape, portraits and family portraits. I have also dabbled in commercial food products and real estate. I am also an active member of a few photography associations such as:
Professional Photographers of Canada (PPOC)
Professional Photographers of America (PPA)
Canadian Association for Photographic Arts (CAPA)
New York Institute of Photography (NYIP)
As you can gather, photography is a passion (and helps pay the bills). My newly refinished and updated website (a work in progress) is www.photostudiodery.net and you can also reach me through my contact page on my website. Looking forward to reading and contributing.
Respectfully
Gaetan Dery
Hello everybody!
I am not a new user, but I thought I would introduce myself again anyways!
My name is Lise-Marie, I am from Norway and I'm starting my masters degree in special needs education this fall. I don't think I've logged in here for one or two years (shame on me) but I've been busy with my bachelors degree and I've also, slowly but surely, lost my appetite for photograpy... I'm sad about this, and I really want to get back in the game! One of the things I think will be the most helpful is coming back here to be inspiered by all you amazing people
I can't wait to hang out here again
Hi. My name is Yew-sung and I live in Malaysia. I love all aspects of photography and have been taking pictures since the mid 1950s. However. I'm relatively 'new' to digital photography, having started only in 2004. I'm still feeling my way through the digital maze of editing, which hasn't been helped by Mac abandoning Aperture. So I'm here to learn as much as to share in the experiences of other members. BTW apart from photography, my other interests include travelling and growing orchids - all of which have to be done at a pace suited to my age at 77.
