Hello, I am Lacey. I'm not well with photography and I have joined this site as to seek help. I'm very fond of Barrel Racing and I'd love to be able to take photos of the sport. Unfortunately I have absolutely no clue on what I should use for a camera. If anyone has a camera/lens suggestion for quick action please feel free to tell me.
Pleasure to meet everyone
Thanks Dave, yep born and bred in Belfast. Been taking pictures for about 50 years, decided to get back in and sake the dust of the nikon 3200.
I'll try and post this again. I was hoping to see the "Submit reply" or a post reply tab on the site bot have not found it yet. So I'll see if the post quick reply works.
Hello Lacey, and nice to meet you to!Hello, I am Lacey
I see you have started a thread in the main forums about equipment for photographing Barrel racing. I know I've seen good images of the sport on here before, so hopefully someone will be along with actual experience.
As you will have gathered, indoor racing is going to be challenging, but as William said, it's possible to get goog results with less than ideal kit (and most of us don't have and can't afford the ideal). When you do decide, second hand from a reputable source can be a very good move.

Hello everyone,
My name is Jonathan and I'm from Victoria, BC in Canada. Interested in photography for many years and continue to follow the never-ending quest to improve my photography! My preference is for landscapes, animals, birds, and people, although I do not limit myself to those subjects. Try to include gentle humour if possible! Started to use a Sony RX10 M3 a couple of months ago. Any feedback on images posted will be greatly appreciated as I have much to learn!

My reason for joining is for help with a couple topics before I get there I also wish
I could know how to create streaming things for Amazon like the ones you pay 99 cents for.

Hi. My name is Lois and I live in beautiful north Wales where Snowdonia meets the sea.
I love taking landscape photos which is not surprising living around here! I have a Canon 700D which I am still getting to grips with. At the moment I am focusing on getting the sky right, but I think that's a lifelong task. I expect to spend lots of time exploring this site!
Here are two I took on a sea shore walk recently:
Hello Jonathan, and a warm welcome to CiC. If you post images in one of the main forums and ask for "C&C" then you will certainly get feedback, and it has better be constructive because that's the way we do things here! We are all about learning from each other. My name is Jonathan and I'm from Victoria, BC in Canada
You certainly live in a beautiful part of the world. Some years ago we spent a few days further up the coast in Knight Inlet which was spectacular.
Hope to see and hear more from you,
Dave
Hi Sharon, pleased you have decided to join up. I've seen quite a few stunning images from that part of the USA on here, so I'm sure there is help available (in fact my wife just got back from there, and it looks spectacular even on he cheap cell phone).Hi. I am Sharon Adams
Anyway, if you are off soon, better start asking! I suggest in the General Photography forum.
Dave
Hello soungsik, and a warm welcome to our community. I hope you will find your time here helpful and enjoyable.Hello, everyone. I'm soungsik from South Korea
I look forward to hearing more from you in the forums, and it would be good to see some images of South Korea - I don't think we have had many of those.
Best regards, Dave
Hello Lois, and a warm welcome (or should that be croeso?)Hi. My name is Lois and I live in beautiful north Wale
Pleased to see that you are already contributing in the forums. I love those images, especially the first where I think your treatment of the sky is great - beautiful North Wales indeed. It's an easy day trip to the coast for me, but I rarely get there, so your post is a reminder.
I look forward to seeing more of your work,
Cheers, Dave
Keeping with tradition I am starting off saying a big HELLO to everyone on this forum. My name is Mitchell and I live in South Africa. I am a landscape and wildlife photographer and also do photography full time commercially.
It's been several years since I have partaken on any forums, some of the one's I used to frequent became monotonous and filled with ego's. It ended up that those forums became very little to do with photography at all so I stopped participating.
I was very glad to stumble across this forum and I look forward to learning some new tricks, seeing some great photos and to hopefully sharing some of my knowledge and tips with some of you.
Looking forward to meeting all of you on the forums.
Kind Regards
Mitchell

Hi Mitchell,
I think you take the prize for the most impressive avatar
If I knew you better, I'd even ask who the guy with the camera was
As I don't, I'd better not, for fear of offending you.
Seriously though, there's certainly great wildlife shots on your web site.
Also glad to see you're up and running posting already.
All the best, Dave
Hello, I'm Sam and I'm happy to be here. I am in the u.s. and my real interest in concert photography which I have many questions about. I have an older camera, a canon 30d with a 50mm 1.8 and 85mm 2.8.
Hi Sam,
Warm welcome to the CiC forums from me.
I suggest you ask about Concert photography in a new thread, ideally with an example of any shot with a specific problem, so we can see what that might be. This query is unlikely to get picked up here and even if it does, I'll end up moving it to its own thread anyway.
If you have several different questions, please start as many threads as you need, in the appropriate forum(s), most likely one or more of these three.
Digital Cameras & Equipment
Image Post-Processing & Printing
General Photography Discussion
As I'm sure you're aware, the biggest problem with 'an older camera' is that noise performance at high iso is not going to be as good as more recent offerings.
Could you do me a favour please?
Could you click Settings (right at the top),
then Edit Profile (on left)
and put your first name (Sam) in the Real Name field
and where you are (roughly - e.g. city/state and 'USA') in the Location field,
then click the Save Changes button below and to right,
this helps everyone give you more personal and relevant answers - thanks in advance.
All the best, Dave
