Hi Bruce (I guess) and a warm welcome. Certainly sounds like you have a lot of experience. You'll have to compare notes with Richard (rpcrowe) who is an ex-navy photographer with some stories to tell (though nowadays rescuing dogs is his passion). Please could you add your location to your profile - it's nice to know where everyone is in the world.
Best regards, Dave

Hello all.... My name is Chris, i'm from the UK but currently working in Abu Dhabi. I was directed to this site by some guys at Amateur Photographer as I wanted to speed up my learning and get better at just about everything.
My favorite type of photography is street although I enjoy action, candid and just getting into some portrait stuff.
I used to be a keen photographer in my youth until my cameras were stolen in Madrid (that was 35mm film)...then again from my house in the UK so not had a lot of luck. Hope it goes better from now on and since November this is my first real attempt at digital.
I have a question about the competitions...do they have a monthly theme or is it anything so long as its taken in that month? Having checked the site I cant see anywhere where it mentions the theme.
Hello my name is Tom Kozlowski. I live in central NY, actually Rome NY. I have two Canon cameras the 20 and 30D. Love them both and have had them for sometime now. Most of the lenses I own are Canon except for a Sigma 150-500 which I like very much also.
Welcome Tom. You're in good company. NY is well represented here by some good Photographers so you should feel at home. Let's see some posts.
I am a learning photographer from Pakistan. Prince Neel is my name. hope I find good guidance here.
Love,
Neel

Hi everyone,Hanan from Kashmir,India.I have been learning photography from year and a half and am really enjoying the journey but as they say one important part of learning and gaining knowledge is by sharing and discussing, so will be looking forward for that in here.Came to know about this page from one of my teachers Peter Glendinning from Michigan State University.Plus I am currently starting my work on a photography project in which my genre is Abstract Photography and i wish to learn a lot and improve over that from all the members present in here.Hope we all have an exciting and memorable learning time here.
Welcome to CiC. We have members from all over the world, including several from India.
Hello, I stumbled on this website while i was looking for GIMP tutorial on vignetting. I'm from Maryland, USA but Mr Trump is definitely not my president.......I've been on several Photo Websites/Forums but currently inactive for years now. I've owned/used different brands of DSLR's in the past but right now i'm only using a couple of Canon P&S's- Elph150 IS and S2 IS. It's a downgrade but i just need something light to carry with me wherever i go...
Hi Ed:
Welcome to the friendly forum. They are a great bunch of positive, supportive and knowledgeable people here who are happy to share their knowledge and admire your work.
Trump isn't my president either - Mind you I don't live in the USA!
As regards your camera inventory, as they say the best camera is the one you are carrying!
cheers: Trev
Greetings to all,
The name is Richard. I am a physician who lives and works in NYC.
