Hi. I'm Dave, living in Arizona. I worked in and managed camera stores in the 80s. I repaired 1 Hour Photo machines for a few years in the late 90s. After film went away, I was pretty inactive for quite a long time. Looking back at my old pictures, I thought that I had a pretty good eye. Then I see the gorgeous shots on forums like this, and I hope I can make you guys someday think "I wish I could take shots like that."
I have had a digital camera for about 1 1/2 years. Shooting with Nikon D7500, 18-300 and Nikon Macro 105 lenses. Just starting in macro. Interested in landscape, and now macro - flowers mostly. I live in Arizona, just outside of Phoenix.
Hi, I'm here for my bachelor degree, Norway
Hi all,
Awesome website -- there is so much good information here. My main interest is in underwater photography and video. In particular, I am interested to learn more details about A to D conversion, ISO, white balance and how they interact. I have some familiarity with such issues in the audio realm as I am a retired geophysicist and worked for years on very low S/N issues, imaging, wave propagation, etc.
I find the camera manufacturers less than forthcoming when quizzed about details of their algorithms and processes. That is understandable, however, they don't even want to reply to general questions such as how (precisely) does their underwater white balance setting work? I know that, generally, it will boost he red content but there is much more than that.
I won't ask these questions here, but I hope to learn more about these issues from experts on this site.
Thanks for participating!
Hi everyone, this is Julietta from Seattle, WA! I am excited to be here. to be inspired and learn as well.
Julietta, welcome to CiC! You'll find that there are several other members not far from you in Washington State and also up here over the border.
Good day. My name is Chris and I like nature photography. I use a Nikon D500 and Nikon 200-500 for my image captures. I am fairly new to digital photography but, like most things in life, I’ve jumped in with both feet. I will share some photos once I figure out how to post. Thank you for having me.

Hi all. I'am from St Thomas Canada. Interested in wildlife and landscape photography. Would also like to learn about macro photography as well. Looking forward to chatting with people on this forum. I have a Canon rebel T6i and a canon 18-135mm lens to start out with. Hope to expand to a zoom lens in the 300 to 400 mm range in the future.
Hello all. I am new here and also new in digital photography after using film and processing and printing photographic papers for 25 years. I have a Nikon Z6 which is new after using Mamiya 7II for 6X7 film. I will follow the forum and read posts and reading the tutorials of Cambridge in Color to increase my knowledge.
Best regards to all. UMIT
Hi UMIT, welcome go CiC! I'll look forward so seeing some of your photographs.
Dear Cantab, Thank you for your msg. I hope I will be able to learn to process and edit my photographs at Photoshop in near future. After learning I will be sharing some of my photos.
Hello all, Photography has been my hobby for many years, first film (Leica M3), then digital. I started with Olympus four third, then switched to micro four third ( Olympus OMD em1 mark2)
I enjoy all kinds of photography, family, wildlife, birds landscapes etc. I belong to photo club in Moncton New Brunswick, Canada.
I do enjoy the four third system, as it has high quality lenses that are reasonably small, and not too expensive.
