Before air conditioning was common I spent a few nights at the Melborne YCMA hostel and outside the temperature was 100 Fahrenheit at 8pm... 38C .... my room mate was a piano tuner working in the rubber tyre factory, poor guy. I was on holiday.

    Hi John,

I live in Adelaide, which is often even hotter than Melbourne........

I often think how people must have been feeling before air cond. was common, but the houses were build different then, smaller windows, verandas all around the house, and sometimes a house had also a cellar .....and also less spoilt as we are

    Greetings,
    Griddi.........

John.... I just had another look at the colour version of the sun dial, and I agree with you, about the bright foliage distraction for the sun dials metals........anyway....I keep it in b/w/ ........
