    A Winter Miscellany

The weather here has been truly miserable this last 3 months, rainand fllods everywhere and very dull.
Not really conducive to productive photoshoots
Additionally, I've not been able to get out much (purely domestic reasons!). But necessity is the mother of...something or other... and wandering around my garden there were some occasions when opportunities presented themselves....

An eclectic mix, but better than no photography.. I really do hope things improve into February

Great set. The last one is most impressive and reminds me that really we are surrounded by opportunity. Just a matter of seeing it really.

Yes, raindrops are a subject which sounds easy but in reality they are difficult to photograph well.

Love this series, James...looks like you had made use of the lull in the weather...

Re: A Winter Miscellany (Frost and Ice)

Further to the original post, we've now had a couple of clear days with cold nights. No real snow but good frosts.
Since it my turn out to be the coldest snap this winter I couldn't pass on a couple of shots to reflect a 'Frozen' theme.....so

#1 Frost ... the ice crystals fascinated me... and all gone after a few hrs
    A Winter Miscellany

    and

#2 Ice... A garden pot was flooded and froze overnight.. I love the trapped air bubbles
    A Winter Miscellany

    C&C welcome as always

Excellent shots on both. I like the first one better, it made me think when I was looking at those pine needles as the snow falls yesterday...but in a different way. #2 has to be seen in expanded version of Lytebox. Very interesting indeed.

Thanks Izzie, The second capture reminds me of those insects trapped in amber for thousands of years. Its a pity that it is so ephemeral, but then I guess that is one of the great things about photography... it does let you hang on to such things for a while.
