I did enjoy it indeed. Nice colorful image of a restful scene. Viewed full size it seems a bit soft.
Looks like a keeper. take mike's advice and hang it on a wall. Nice work Kathy
A lovely shot, I like the colours in the sky. The lone fisherman (?) on the side has found himself a very nice spot to be.
Lovely tranquil scene, Kathy!
A very nice image Kathy - you've done a great job on this image. Some niggly little points.
Others have already pointed out, the image is a bit soft, so some sharpening is definitely in order, especially in the foreground and middle ground. I would not want to sharpen the sky and if fact, I would be more tempted to do a bit of noise reduction there. I'd probably do the same in the water; again you want the water to look water-like.
I also wonder if the colours might not be a touch over the top. You might want to look at desaturating the image slightly to see if you think that will improve the look.
There seems to be a bit of a vignette in the left and right top corners and the colours seem to be cool, whereas the rest of the sky seems to be warm toned.
Sharpness and saturation could perhaps be adjusted as a pure photographic image but this is more of a visual idyll and so for me, they don't detract from the overall effect. I might be tempted to lose your other half (in the nicest possible way ) because the scene is so timeless.
Nice capture.
Hi Kathy,
It is a nice scene.
Can you answer a question please - as captured, was there a bit more on the right hand side that you cropped off?
I just want to know if a theory I have is valid - before opening my mouth, since I'm not at all sure I am going to be right
With regard to the image's sharpness, I have a theory on that too:
I suspect that you didn't downsize before uploading to TinyPic, so whatever sharpening you may have applied (to the full size image) has been 'diluted' when TinyPic downsized it to 1599 x 1066 to host for display here.
I'd recommend you downsize a copy of the image to 1500 x 1000, sharpen it with USM (UnSharp Mask) at 100% Amount, 0.3px Radius and Threshold of 0 or 1. Unfortunately, you can't do that in LR (5.4), so I'm not sure if you have access to PS or even PS Elements to allow that?
I must admit, the saturation did 'jar' when I first opened it, so I see where Manfred is coming from, although I found I got used to it after a while.
HTH, Dave
Thank you all for your compliments and your constructive advice on this photo -- it is so appreciated.
Here is the photo straight out of the camera, thought I would share this to compare the satuation. I actually did not bump up the Satuation at all in this photo, I just took the highlights down to 0 to bring out the color in the sky. I edit with LR5. I will probably play around with the photo a little bit to see if a little less color is needed.
Thanks again for your comments.

Everything looks excellent in the image Kathy, congrats I love the softness and colors as they really add to the image when watched in lightbox at a bigger size.
Kathy,
Are you using a calibrated monitor?
I do not have anything to calibrate my monitor with, but I have received prints from a studio whom I trust as far as colors etc. and have compared to my monitor -- I know this is not a very accurate but until I can afford a calibration device that is what I do.
Do the colors look really off to you??
