    Fall colors

    C&C appreciated as always

PS . I think the grey BG effects the look of the image , it looks a bit brighter and livelier on the white BG on my screen.

PS. The reds on the RHS in the FG are peach trees

Nice image Binnur, I can't say for sure about the white but I like the contrast from dark background.

Excellent image, Binnur.... do you have another image where less of fore ground and more of upper part showing the tops of trees and more sky?

Thank you Nandakumar No there are high hills at the back. So I would have to be far away from the trees to include the sky. That's why I preferred a closer shot of the trees.

I'm holding pieces of card against my screen again.

So I wonder about a very slight crop from bottom and left side?

    Re: Fall colors

Thanks for looking and commenting Geoff I actually tried to crop the image from bottom a little bit but those green plants looked a bit odd so I stepped back. But I will try and see what happens when cropped both from the LHS and bottom.

I was only thinking about removing 10% at the most.

I also like bright light on subjects contrasting with a darker background. It's not something we often see in the real world but it's spectacular when we do see it. You took all of that into great advantage.

Yes, the crop is exactly what I was thinking about.

I think the image shines through even with the grey BG, I use the grey as default for all my viewing.

    Binnur,

Have you considered adding a white border to the image to see if it changes your opinion of the BG affect? I'm not sure how white works with a nature shot, does it look natural, does it overcome the primary colors?

    Re: Fall colors

No John, I haven't tried. I can only see a difference if I view the image both on a grey BG and on a white BG for comparison. If I look at the image on a grey BG individually I don't see a problem. So , it is a kind of eye trick I suppose I have given up adding borders to my images and I have already removed some of them because when I uploaded them to Flickr with the borders they spoilt the look of my photostream
