    Moving Forward

My wife and I felt as though my son was about to start crawling and I wanted more than anything to catch it on camera. I've work 50 hours a week and I was hoping not to miss it. Well yesterday he not only crawled, but he actually attempted to stand for the first time and I got it all on camera which makes me a proud dad! CC is welcomed.

All shot with a Nikon D5500, Nikkor 50mm 1.8G lens, and edited in Lightroom as well as Photoshop.
    f2.5, 1/200th, ISO 500, flash fired.

Yes the middle one, or possibly the last image.

Would the first one look better with a crop from the left, and possibly bottom, to reduce the impact of that large out of focus foreground object? You can't lose it completely but reducing it by around half would reduce the impact.

    Re: Moving Forward

I initially tried cropping the first image a bit more but I felt as though the framing was too tight. Plus I used the rule of thirds between him and the sippy cup and I like the distance in the foreground as I feel like it helps to tell the story and it demonstrates that he had to work to get to it lol.

Thank you so much for your feedback!!!

Totally agree - you have presented a series which tells the story perfectly. And what a great set for the 'growing up' album

I like the first one on the left because it is "a moment shot"...shall we say this as "spoken like a mother" comment? That was one hard work trying to stand up, you know...

Don't be too much in a hurry for your son to even walk...you and your wife will wish you have eyes behind your head watching him...
