I like the concept but feel that at least something in the background needs more focus as there is nowhere to lead my eye. This maybe because I don't know Time Square.

    Hi Rob,

I can live with the lack of background focus, but there are 2 or 3 'disfigurements' on the foreground (oof) tarmac surface that attract and hold my attention, so (if mine), I'd clone them out (would need to be careful where 'fill' was taken from to avoid tell-tale though).

Only other thing I wondered about was rotation/perspective correction, but it could be an optical illusion, or the reality of the architecture, messin' with my eyes.

Good shot, there are many subtle things that are right about it that I haven't mentioned.

    HTH, Dave

I was wide open at f/1.8 but didn't know it. I thought I was at f/2.8 until I noticed the oof areas in post and checked the exif. I'll play with it and see if I can improve the FG oof spots.

That is understandable Kaye, my goal was a nice buttery soft oof bg and sharp focus on the textures of the street.

I'm going to try a slight crop off the bottom right at the edge of the focus area to see if this works along with a few touch ups to the oof spots.

Yes Rob, that pretty much solves the foreground issues.
