Fog

I don't usually shoot landscapes (seascape?), but I was near this marina when a sudden fog rolled in. C & C always.

Nicely captured and converted, lone figure really makes the image.

Looks good to me, Dean. The foreground is sharply focused which gives a good reference point. Without that, foggy scenes often just look as though they are badly focused. So this is definitely a foggy day.

The foreground boats are slightly off centre which looks more natural than being too 'squared up'. There may be various opinions on whether including a person in the image is beneficial or distracting but it does nicely place everything into a scale and context.

This is a well seen shot Dean. I like it a lot. Proves that you shouldn't be afraid to use the camera whatever the conditions. The figure makes it for me. My only thoughts are that you could add a little selective contrast around the boats which provides some recession and depth and lose some of the top and bottom which don't add much. Something like:

Having spent a lot of time in marinas I can tell you what it would look like. Each of the boats in the background has their sail covers on and while a lot will be blue it will be a lot of different shades with the odd green or red thrown in. There are also their stays and halyards which the fog mutes and provides separation from the foreground sailing dinghies. Together those would make for a very cluttered background and the masts of the dinghes would just blend in to the linear clutter.

In this shot, the elevation of the camera makes a difference allowing the fellow walking along the dock to be an effective part of the image. Taken a bit lower and his head would meld with the background.
