OK...OK...this looks like a rosemary bush but where are insects you wanted to show? Don't tell me "they are hidden from view" that is why I can't see it...
If you say so on the first. Nice captures.
As a brain teaser, I really like the first one. Took me a couple of seconds. Don't see them like that over in WA.
I did not see it until the second look....Duh!!! Of course that is the point.
Thanks everyone for looking and commenting.
Izzie, it is not actually rosemary but some small shrub that my wife has in a pot in front of the house.
This view includes the whole stick insect. The two front legs and the feelers point forward.

It is really amazing what you have done using photoshop on an uninteresting twig....
Camouflage at its finest. Well done and seen.
Well I'll be damn!!!
What a strange critter!
Just a guess, but could the second insect be one of the very large Ichneumon Wasp family?
But some Sawflies are quite similar.
Nice catch of the stick.
I don't really know but the vies look different to either of these to me.
Paul, that's all right. "All the world is queer except me and thee, and sometimes ... "
Binnur, I have been familiar with these stick insects as long as I can remember so they don't look so strange to me. They are quite harmless but feel uncomfortable when they hang on with their sticky feet.
