Not a point. It was simply that in English the title seemed to be lacking. But in Latin 'Subdued Rose' sounds impressive?

I am afraid that my knowledge of Latin is deficient and google research did not reveal the nuances. But I still like the image.

Mine is too. I googled 'translate subdued rose into latin' and used what popped up. Still ands all it is a nice image.

Try Babelfish and even then the writing style will be slightly altered.

I redid it reversing the order to have the full colour version on the bottom. Not as dramatic but still a nice shot.

That last edit is very vibrant, probably not what you wanted but definitely different. Original looks like it was captured under cloudy conditions, last edit makes it appear to be a sunny environment.

it was definitely sunny. I did the original work up in Sony Express. Exported the vibrant colour and a black and white. Treated them as layers in Gimp. B&W on the bottom with the colour overlay gives the first shot.

The second one is really no more 'actual' than the first. It is simply more vibrant. I simply reversed which was on the bottom. The B&W or the full colour.

commune rosa abtenua or adtenua est (or a word similar - it's been a lot of years...). A common rose is lessened?, reduced? shrunken? Don't think/can't remember if there's a direct translation of "subdued".

I did, but apparently not enough. With a separate sharpening on some of the rose petals.
