The final count-down begins!
Canon 500D, EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM @ 33mm, full EXIF, PAD slideshow.
An old barn with an old advertisement on a working farm. I'm guessing that it hasn't been torn down because the Mail Pouch Tobacco Barns are actually a bit of Americana. See Wikipedia article. It may still be in use: I can see a padlock on the door.
C&C always welcome.
Cheers,
Rick
Hello, I am new to this site. I have been reading for some time now..and finally decided to jump in. Happy to be here
Shauna
I meant to add, I love the barn..great pic! And also, I am not by any means a pro at this photography stuff, I actually only own a point and shoot and dream of owning a dslr someday and I'm hoping to learns lots here K that's it!!
Wow..this is getting a little embarrassing, I guess, I am not quite sure how to upload a picture because mine is not there? HELP??
Hi Shauna,
Welcome to the CiC forums from me.
Try this.
Step 6 onwards is what you may have overlooked
btw, you can go back and edit your posts to add more after thoughts (or pictures)
Thanks, Dave! I appreciate your help! I feel a little better knowing it wasn't something obvious that would make me look bad. I have gone back and added my picture.
Hi, Shauna, and welcome to CiC!
These threads (Day20, Day21, etc) are set up for a photo-a-day challenge that some people have been doing for July. You can post your image here if you like: we're not real big on rules around here, except that you have to use Canon gear (only kidding ).
But it may be more productive for you to start a thread with your image in one of the sections like Nature and Architecture. Just go to the section you think makes sense for your photo and click "+ Post New Thread." That way, all the comments in the thread will be about your photo, and any questions and discussions will be in one place, which helps keep things understandable if you get off into discussions.
This thread explains how to post an image, but please do post back with a question if you have problems.
And after posting, I see that Dave beat me to the punch again.
Cheers,
Rick
Rick, Thanks so much for the info..I didn't realize it was a contest, I am so sorry. Thanks for the help..and yes you will only find a Canon in these hands
No worries, Shauna: as I said, we're not big on rules, and no one would be bothered if you posted in this thread. It's just that you're likely to have more useful discussion of a photo if you start a thread with it.
I like your image: the silhouette in front of the subtle sky tones is nice, and the diagonals make a nice composition. It's also good that you can see the details of some of the clothespins, it adds more interest, I think. Just as a suggestion, maybe crop a bit at the bottom so the upper clothesline ends at the corner? Maybe not.
Cheers,
Rick
PS: Not really a "contest" (hopefully we're all winners, although nobody will be judging) - so feel free to jump in to the PAD threads or just as equally, feel free to start your own thread, or just let Dave or I know and we can move your posts for you ...
... so many options, all "too easy"
