    Cows Grazing At Portland

Driving along the highway between Portland and Port Fairy in Victoria I spotted this herd of cows grazing. The proximity of a wind turbine made the shot interesting. C&C most welcome.

I'm afraid your beautiful landscape is littered with cows. How high was that silo, would have been nice to capture all of it?

If you can't show all of it I would be tempted to crop the sky by about half and have a different size ratio which would concentrate more on the cattle.

This is an interesting scene but difficult to convey in a photograph the feeling you might have looking at it. I see a very dry hot paddock with cattle hanging round the feeding bins.

The changes I would like in the composition conflict with one another. I would like to see the whole of the wind turbine but I would also like to see more of the group of cattle at the bottom. But there is already too much detail so that would not quite work either. It would be better if it were posted at a larger size. I think 1600 pixels across is possible but that does not always work for me. I can visualise a large print on the wall looking good.

What have you got against cows? I just loooove cows. It is not a silo but a wind turbine and it is twice the length in the picture.

Too bad about the turbine. I get along fine with cows, I can visualize the scene with a few less though, so many just seems to create blotches especially where you can just see bulk but not specific recognizable features.

I have an idea ...why not just show lesser cow numbers and the turbine then crop the bottom to show just the cows and the feeders? Anyway...I like the first top half with lesser cows and the view.
