Stanley Point on Auckland's harbour is one of the city's oldest suburbs, and is characterized by many gracious villas that date back before the last century or for the first couple of decades of the 1900's. I went for a drive/walk around and took photos of a few of the ones that caught my eye. The following image is not a great piece of photography - I happily admit that it was never intended to be, but what caught my attention in the first place and continues to hold my interest, is the view through the house to the patio beyond, with a table set and the view out over the harbour that it must afford. As I stood looking over the hedge I really felt like a kid in a candy store, with his nose pressed against the glass (read hedge). I wanted to sit there and enjoy the moment on that patio... I still do.
I kept the remnants of the hedge to remind myself of where I was at the time...
