Is it what fighter pilots play while waiting to scramble, or is it when your numbers up it is what you shout, or is it two runways with the same heading.

I don't know about Navy stuff.

"Divert to alternate landing field." Verb, noun, adjective, and expletive. In peacetime operations, carriers nearly always have a divert (bingo) field available. An accident can lead to a foul deck, requiring all airborne A/C to bingo, or a single A/C may have a problem that prevents shipboard landing. The most common reason for bingo'ing is low fuel. At each flight pilots are briefed on the bingo fuel state: the minimum fuel level with which you can safely reach the bingo field. If you reach bingo fuel and you're still in the air, you'll hear, "Your signal bingo." Sayonara. The Navy spouse needs to know this term, because during the 3rd movement of a Mahler symphony, the aviator hubby will almost certainly say, "Let's bingo."

    Peter,

Nice composition, so much going on in this image. As I stated in another post, trees have so little contrast or detail that having them in the foreground distracts greatly from the overall image. Great leading lines and altering perspective.

Thanks. It is a crop of a landscape photo, which just didn't do it for me. I cropped it so that you had this streetview and left in the bit of street in the beginning on purpose. It was needed to convey the image of a steep street going down and up again.

    Re: cityscape

I was looking for cityscape subjects today, so this thread came up in my search. I now realise that at the time that I first 'contributed' to this thread it wasn't clear to me what it was exactly.

Let me explain: there is the landscape thread (Landscapes), started by Antonio and I had contributed a few photos to that. Then I came across this thread and I assumed (I guess) that I was on the last page of a similar thread. Being too hasty, I didn't bother looking at any previous pages (which weren't there anyway, but that should have alerted me of course).

So...I posted some of my photos here (hijack alert) and a few others did as well and then the thread disappeared to the background again.

So, first of all: John, apologies for hijacking your thread.
    cityscape
Secondly: it might be a good idea to get some more cityscapes in here. Would you mind us using this thread for it or should we start a new one?
