    Mini blizzard

A shot from the holiday cottage we are staying in this week in Perthshire, Scotland. We had always said when we booked it '' it would be nice to have snow''. Sometimes you should be careful what you wish for All c&c welcome.

    Through the snow.

Such a gorgeously composed image and post-processed equally well to render a soft mood!

Nice image. In Ohio we call that a dusting caused by a northern clipper.

Beautiful composition, Gerry...even if I do not like the cold and snow very much, I like this pix. Show us some more, I don't mind, as long as I do not have to live in it 24/7, 365 days a year.

It looks like it must have been very dark when you took that shot. ISO 5000, 1/30th at f/4.5 and taken at 17:07 suggests you were well into a cloud obscured blue hour in that part of the world. It's a well composed and executed shot, especially given the shooting conditions.

Enjoy the fresh fallen snow and drive carefully and safely!

Thank you Manfred, it was very blue and blustery. Unfortunately it was all gone 24 hours later and replaced by wind and rain.

Beautiful image Gerry. What makes it even more special for me is the similar shape amongst the trees.

    Print it. Large. Hang it.
(if it were possible, this image should be paired with Donald's recent (most excellent) image of almost mirror proportions. Man I would love to see both those images hanging side by each in a gallery).
Totally agree and makes me (almost) wish the snow had got this far south

    Re: Mini blizzard

Thank you for all the comments. Decided to have it printed to hang in my living room. Picture doesn't do justice, too many reflections.

    Framed print.

Excellent. Try to keep it away from the window so you can see free beauty without the reflections.

I've just seen this image today, and it is stunning. I love the detail in the first tree, and the diminishing detail in the receding ones.

You've done some great post-processing. Can you share some of the details of the PP?

Beautiful shot. But a frosting rather than a blizzard. Where I used to live the record was six feet in 24 hours. We used snowflakes for Frisbee's.
