I usually don't comment on formal flower photographs but this is excellent, perfect exposure and great mix of pleasing tones and colours. I don't think it needs so much space at the top but it certainly does not spoil it.

Thank you Paul, John and Binnur for your comments and feedback. Cropping a bit off the top and adding some space on the sides probably would help the image/composition.

    Really lovely image...

I found a great uncle who had disappeared from my genealogy studies for several generations appearing on the 1880 Census of Plano, Texas. He was listed as 36 years old, a widower and boarding with Thomas Moore, Farmer. I have no idea how he arrived in Plano or who his late wife was. More research is needed...

I hope you find out a bit more about your Uncle, Richard. I would suspect that Plano in the 1880's was just a stop on railroad (Houston and Texas Central Railway), and a day's ride by horse to the "big city" of Dallas (two days to Fort Worth). Mostly cotton farms and cattle grazing. FYI: I found the following in the Plano timeline history - In 1898 Construction of the Moore House, a hotel catering to railroad travelers at 1414 Avenue. This later becomes the Masonic Lodge. Don't know if it has anything to do with your uncle.

One of your most beautiful flower shots yet so far, John...excellent exposure and richness in colours.
