Helpful Posts: Out with some friends the other day and as there were a lot of birds and birders around so I gave it a try, this is what I ended up with. Birds and critters are not my usual thing however one has to spread there wings now and then so to speak. It has been tightly cropped as I only had a 70-300.

Lovely capture.
I find the brown foreground object at the bottom of the photo a little distracting - rather than cloning or cropping further, might you try desaturising this area with a selection brush?

Allan -- lots of cardinals here in my backyard in my feeder, Some of them have very pronounced colour as this one you have here. Good shot...good composition on this one.
