Re: Golden Bench
Very interesting; some foreground trim away would make the bench more prominent ?

Re: Golden Bench
Jim - this one is not working as well as is could. The background is so busy that the bench just fades away into it.
You could try a really aggressive crop, but that would totally change the context of the picture that you are trying for.

Re: Golden Bench
I like it, Ziggy but you need to crop a little bit from the top and a little bit at the bottom to make this image worthwhile if only for me.

Re: Golden Bench
Thanks all for the comments and the feedback.
Nope, no crop on this one. Maybe have to see the location to understand.

Re: Golden Bench
Maybe it needs a different title instead of a crop?
For example 'Somewhere to rest among the trees' doesn't require a crop and works fine as it is now.

Re: Golden Bench
Ziggy, nice shot, like the fore ground as is, and head room, gives a scale to the wooden bench and trees. Maybe how insignifcant a man made bench is to a real tree?

Re: Golden Bench
My thought originally was that this needed a severe crop, but when I looked at the image at the maximum size that my screen allows, it seemed good. I can imagine that being inside a forest like that produces a feeling that is very hard to capture on camera. Being completely enveloped in such an environment and feeling the air and getting the smells, etc, and being able to look all around is different.

Re: Golden Bench
Perhaps if the background were more out of focus it might have presented as a nice bokeh allowing the bench to stand out more? As Geoff says perhaps the title removes the focus from the forest unto the bench ?
