    Thanks, Rob and Rick!

It is a very nice and peaceful place, it is actually a lake in the middle of a Cemetery. Perhaps the reason why the occupants have stayed there for such a long time

I agree about the top part being too small. I wanted to get as close a possible to the foreground without getting in the lake. That is why it was hard to look through the LCD or viewfinder and make sure it is set straight. Because of that tilt, I have to cut a little bit of the top part and that is why it is cut too short. This was taken with a wide angle 16-35mm lens. Even with that, it was not possible to take a lot of the sky in the frame. Anyway, next time I will do a better job hopefully!

The Tumoulin Flyer arrives at Queensland's highest railway station (1000m above sea level). Top speed 10km per hour, loads of fum for the kids and enough noise and general mayhem to scare the cattle and set the dogs to barking.

Such a cute locomotive, Grant! Nice colorful shot

Beautiful shot, Mark. The haze makes it look unreal. What about converting to monochrome, and tinting it with the tone that's in the sky? Like this:
    Thanks.

I used a preset in silver efex. They have monochrome preset there.

I apologise for being among the missing, these past few days. At any rate, I'm able to move about some today, so I did get a shot. Not very exciting, but that is about all I could stand while standing.

    Hi, Mark;

So it was monochrome already?? In the histogram, it showed variable spread at different intensities. Maybe that's the efex processing. Or maybe it's too subtle for me.

Very nice, Pops. The repeating bursts in the center really rock. Little structures leading out to the density around the perimeter. And glad you're feeling somewhat better.

    Re: Dave's power button

Okay, I'll admit to stupidity, as usual: what is it? A power button somewhere, apparently, but is that a negative impression through translucent material, or did you create it, or what?

    Cheers,
    Rick

Thank you, Rick. I was just about to give up and miss another day, when the sun moved just enough to get that little boy out of the shadow.

I will say that you aren't one bit more thankful than I, tho. I've lived with this since June, 1960. One would think I'd have gotten used to it, by now.

You are correct (as usual - and hence not stupid) also thanks for the hint that I forgot to title the post

I do wish I had seen two blips, one black (centre) and one white (bottom left corner) and zapped 'em with spot healing tool before posting though.

I have some more of the keyboard I haven't PP'd yet, some with triangles, some with more circles

    Cheers,

    What on Earth?

Who can figure out what this is?

hmm the 'brownie' points could be a hint that it is something that came out of the oven a little over-done, similar to my nearest & dearest's dinner when I forget it's in the oven and get sidetracked here
or sticking with the food theory - a block of chocolate that the youngsters were fighting over?
3rd guess - I'm probably not allowed 3 guesses which is just as well because I clearly have no idea

I'm surprised all the water hasn't run off the page after flipping it 90 deg. like that.

Rick - fabulous sharp as we have come to expect from you. And you are right about Earth - I was making it too posey. But as you said, a fun shot.

Ali - hope to see more from you - the more the better. Your image is very tranquil.

Grant - cuter than cute wee engine and the colours are great.

Antonio - I know you are a busy man at the moment, but you always seem to come up with something original.

Rob - lovely blue for a hot summer. I must get a bit of that black stuff.

Mark - the light and subtle colour in this is beautiful. I like it a lot.

Pops - I find these hard to shoot and get as crisp as you have done.

Colin - my neck now has a cramp, looking sideways at the sand and water.

Not fair - you have the "home country" advantage! Ten brownie points heading your way.

I did find the shape quite eye-catching though.

This could be a broken piece of cork.
In this country there used to be cork sold in rectangles with a certain thickness. (thank you for letting me know the word ) and those "areas" when they broke they look a bit like this.
