Not if Kim Jong-il has his way...http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-pacific-10748148 Is anyone going to get a good clean shot of the blast zone on day 25? A solid tripod might be useful.
Canon 500D, EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM, fill flash with 580EX on-camera, full EXIF, PAD slideshow.
This was in a tree, about a foot long, probably a mutant caused by the NK nuclear blast...
Actually in the weeds along the compost area, body about 1cm long. Most spiders have 4 pairs of eyes, but sometimes some aren't visible.

Rick
Thanks, Kay! We mostly only have these little ones here. I generally see the big ones when we visit Florida. Big spiders and big insects, like Palmetto Bugs: flying roaches - yikes!

Brother of the Better Known Darth.
An arcane fact of science fiction is that Darth Vader has a little brother named Earth. Earth Vader is a pacifist, much happier tending his cabbages and onions than he is conquering distant galaxies. He is seen here on a misty morning somewhere near Martinborough, New Zealand, as he sets off to tend his vegetable garden along with his faithful companion, Clogs.
my share.

Messing around with water today. My #1 shot was done with a drip valve onto black perspex, and studio light lit and with a flash gun on the camera as well. The large area in the centre is a pool of water that has gathered and is about 3 inches across. The small water drop on top of it is not resting there, it had just fallen from the valve and I was lucky to get it at the right time so it looks as if it's sitting on top!
Nice on black
and this was my shot #2 for the day
Beautiful image, Ali. Very peaceful, and the foreground draws the eye into the image. I agree with Rob, the crop is a little tight at the top, maybe. It feels as if the trees are being crowded.

Rick
Clogs makes the shot, Kit: sitting there so alert in front of the alien. Very nice touch. I wonder if the pose might have been better with only one tool - like American Gothic. I know this is just a fun shot, but I think a worker with a tool in each hand gives the impression of someone just carrying tools around, whereas with a tool in one hand, they're ready to work. This made me think about the concept of posing someone with tools.
Great-looking train, Grant. Very colorful, and a nice shot. Is it me, or is the horizon a little tilted?
Cheers,
Rick
Great capture, António: like an editorial photo, something to put in a pricey marketing brochure or web page.
Cheers,
Rick
Great water shots, Rob!! The second one is really neat - I don't know if I've ever seen a double bulge like that. Great stuff, and strong colors. Did you use blue light, or blue in the water, or color correct it? Or a combination?
Cheers,
Rick
