    Our Spot

Taken last fall in Kensington Market here in Toronto.
I was walking along when I noticed the café with it's condensation-covered window and was reminded of the humid, cozy atmosphere of many diners and the wonderful breakfasts and hot coffee they serve.
    And I grabbed this shot.

Nice artsy look to the capture.

I like the rich color and how the condensation on the window obscures the people on the other side adding mystery and ambiguity.

    Well seen.

Like that Robert. It's a scene repeated in so many towns and cities and it evokes just the same emotions in all of them.

    Thanks guys.
This is a scene that has for me, a quality called "feel" which is to say it evokes emotion when I view it, which is why I liked it enough to grab it.
I'm sure this same scene can be found in restaurants diners and cafes the world over.

Ditto to everything already mentioned. My only wish, though it's a big wish, is that a different perspective had been used to avoid the restaurant's name from being obscured by the interior ceiling lamps.

    Mike,
despite the imperfections caused by the presence of reflected objects (the white van in our left window) and the interior lights coming through the Café name in both windows, I found the straight-on perspective to be the one I liked best.
I suppose with very little effort I could fix the name in both panes, but at the time I scanned the shot it didn't bother me enough to do so.
I appreciate your constructive comments & criticisms.

That actually doesn't bother me. It indicates the outside environment and that the two people framed by that reflection are paying no attention to it.

I like this shot because of the framing for one and the condensation of the window indicating of a warm atmosphere inside the place. Reminds me of morning coffee, hot and cozy on a cold morning...but I have been caffeine free for a good while so I can only salivate...hot cakes anyone?

    Izzie,
    Glad you like it.
My reasons exactly for taking the shot.
