    It's an interesting shot that would have worked better had the man walking toward the subject were not in the scene. In fact had you been on the other side of the priest and woman, I think it would have worked even better (assuming the background would have worked).

    I find that images showing the backs of people usually don't work that well compositionally. This is certainly the maddening side of street photography.

    I happened to be on this particular side when I came upon the scene. His priestly entourage was to my left in addition to a large Christmas tree and kiosk. The man walked into the frame as I lifted my camera to take the shot. A second later and she was completely obscured by him at her side.

    As you say, it can be maddening, but at times the unexpected or unnoticed things can really make the image.
