Re: Bluebird...a rare color image
okay. I admit to be expecting something else...
All in all, a good image. I think I would have called it the Blue bird of happiness...

Re: Bluebird...a rare color image
Thanks Marie, mea culpa on the title, I meant to deceive.

Nice find, Jack...I like the fact that it is standing there outside in the cold while the other manikins were in where the warmth are...I haven't seen a blue penguin before so I guess it is OK to be outside as a lookout.

Re: Bluebird...a rare color image
Like the title, love the penguin. What about cropping out the bench on the right side?

Re: Bluebird...a rare color image
Awesome image. That's an extremely rare species. I'm glad you decided to display it in color lest someone try to challenge your ID of it. I think birders would call that a "lifer"

Re: Bluebird...a rare color image
Is this part of a charity event in which many penguins are positioned throughout the city, each one painted differently by an artist, and each one bought so proceeds go to the charity?

Fitting capture for the title. Nicely seen and captured.

You'd be blue if you lived where Penguins live. Nicely captured - I like the colour contrast between the cool Penguin and the warmer colours inside the shop. Nicely titled.

Re: Bluebird...a rare color image
Thanks Iz. This penguin has been out front all winter. I took the shot and maybe a week later, Bluey was gone, there was a broken window so I'm concerned maybe somebody stole him. Haven't seen him out front since. Another senseless, driveby penguin abduction.

Re: Bluebird...a rare color image
Thanks Brian. I actually tried that crop, it only showed the storefront and there was no sense of place. By leaving that right side with the bench just seemed to work better.

Re: Bluebird...a rare color image
Thanks Dan, very rare indeed and it just had to be posted in color to be seen in its entire regality (is that a word? dunno but should be).

Mike, so far as I know it's just something that one store has. If you look through the window you can see a couple other penguins.

Re: Bluebird...a rare color image
Thanks John(2). Yeah seeing that blue penguin outside kind of makes you feel the chill. What it really needed was a big scarf wrapped around its neck.
