    Forgetful Me!

Sometimes, I think that If I take a lunch break, I need to be retrained. I just can't remember how to superimpose one image on another.

    Forgetful Me!

In this case, I want the larger image of the dog, after grooming to be the basic image. I then want to superimpose the smaller image of the dog prior to grooming at the top left of the basic image.

My intent is to produce an image that I can print or have printed in a large size print showing the dog before and after grooming and present the print to the grooming shop as a thank-you for grooming our rescue dogs free of charge.

I don't need to separate the dog in the smaller image from the background of that image. The black frame will do that. I will, however, need to size the smaller image to a point where I think it will fit on the basic image.

Once I have the pre-grooming image superimposed at the upper left of the basic image, I will crop the total image the way I want and then place some text. That part of the routine, I still remember. However, it has been years since I superimposed an image.

Sorry if this is too basic but, I have tried to research it on the Internet and couldn't find my answer.

    Thanks in advance...

    1. Select the entire image that you want to appear on top.
    2. Select the Move tool. That tool isn't displayed on your system and I don't know why. The keyboard shortcut is V.
    3. Drag and drop the image you want to appear on top to the other image. You can finely tune the precise location of the moved image by using your Arrow keys.

EDIT: I see that you also don't know how to make the image smaller. Sorry, but I don't remember how to do it but I do remember that it's easy to do once one knows how to do it.

Um, top of the toolbar, just where it should be. I believe Richard is still using PS6, so the old symbol is there. It changed in a recent update of CC 2015.

FYI: If you ever want to move part of an image to the exact same part of another image, hold the Shift key while you move it. Doing so should automatically properly align the registration between the two images.

Costco did a marvelous job of printing an 11x14 inch print on a foam board for ten U.S. Dollars. That's going to be a nice "thank you" to the groomer...
