I did a lot of soul-searching before posting this image. I normally don't shoot people that are not in the shade at mid-day because of the quality of the light. I do convert a lot of my street shots into B&W to simplify the scene, but in the end, here it is, in full colour.
I shot at a wide angle to exaggerate the depth of this image. While it looks like the man has a lot of coconuts tied to his bicycle (he does!) the technique I used exaggerates this even more. There are a number of coconut sellers who work like this around town. Once he reaches his destination, he'll park his bicycle on it's kickstand and wait for customers. When someone wants to drink some coconut water, he'll untie one, use a machette to cut away the shell, pull a plastic drinking straw from the cylinder you can see strapped to the bike's front fender and will hand these to the buyer. There are plenty of coconuts lying on the ground, so you can figure out what people do with the empties...
