And we love you too, Terry...it is a great image to express your greetings. Cheers and I hope you had a happy one too...what was exchanged? Love is enough. Last longer.
Thank you Izz!
Love is always exchanged everyday, but I was really hoping this wouldn’t come up! Love is sometimes a strange thing!
But as far as a gift is concerned I gave her what she asked for (disclaimer). (Further disclaimer) we really don’t exchange gifts in a formal manner on holidays, but usually something special is done in some manner or another. It has much more importance for us.
So she asked for, and received, two 55 gal. food safe barrels. I painstakingly cleaned, sanitized, and aired them (took several days). I then filled them with 110 gallons of fresh potable water. Sealed and stored them where they wouldn’t freeze or be in direct sunlight or heat. So she now has 110 gallons of emergency fresh water in case of said emergency. I might also add that in the past we have experienced these types of emergencies in the form of ice storms, etc. where we have lost power/water for weeks. And I am “on the road” a lot for work.
There was a time I told her I was going to drop some serious coin (and I mean serious) on a diamond ring for her. Which she has always wanted. For that kind of shell out we agree to consult each other first. Well, she kicked it around for a few days and then told me she would rather have a new garage door instead! Which she promptly got!
I married extremely well! And in my own defense nothing says “I Love You’ like 110 gallons of potable water (unless it’s a new leaf blower which she has also asked for and received)!
Also in my own defense I might add that she is driving a brand-smacking new Subaru that she totally loves. I photographed it a while back and posted it here.
Someday she will get that diamond ring. Maybe whether she wants it at the time or not!
She continuously gives me the Gift of being in my Life!
It never fails to amaze me the forms Love can take!

You just declared your love for your beloved in so many ways. That was so sweet. some women are just so lucky...
Before I get side tracked, thanks for the sentiment and that's an awesome image. Nicely done.
Now, your abbreviation in the title brought a (devilish)smile to my face. During my junior high and high school years we spent a good bit of time listening to lectures on the avoidance of V.D. The state that I lived in had the highest incidence in the USA and the county where we resided had the highest incident in the state. Now that is something to brag about
Our wives must have gone to the same spousal training program. We don't do expensive gifts either and tend toward the practical. A good morning kiss, card, and some (inexpensive) flowers do the trick on anniversary and Valentines Day. My bride isn't into expensive jewelry or jewelry at all for that matter. But a year or so back while I was on a business trip she made a comment that she'd like to have a gold cross necklace to wear in expression of her faith. So I brought home the only one I could find which was a really cheap gold plated affair and promised her a better one when we found what she liked. Well the plating is all worn off and it now resembles pewter more than gold. But it's not staining her skin or clothing and she is content that it still serves the intended purpose, perhaps even better than a more expensive version. Love that lady![]()
