Very colorful but a bit underexposed in certain areas.
If you were trying for that watercolour look, I think you have succeeded, Binnur.
For my personal taste, the image is a touch muddy (~ 1/3 stop underexposed) and could use a bit more contrast.
This image is not your typical style. It's so beautiful that hopefully it will be only the first of many like it. It's especially interesting to me that, despite the fog, there is a great sense of depth, partly of course because of your judicious use of foreground material.
If this photo was hanging on a museum wall, I very seriously doubt that anyone would describe it as underexposed.
Thank you very much for your encouraging comment MikeYes, I decided to edit this image differently at the beginning of my PP and I'm actually happy with the result for the first attempt. I joined Flickr last month and although I don't like very crowded and distant websites I'm getting some inspiration there and it is good for me. This image is a result of that inspiration.
That's great to know!
My biggest concern about CiC is that almost all of the photos displayed here do very little to stretch beyond the boundaries of so-called proper exposure and post-processing with regard to white and black points and the like. Very few people contributing here are regularly thinking out of the box or pushing the envelope, so to speak. All of the tutorials are similarly limited to teaching so-called proper photographic styles. It's understandable in that context that critique of photos displayed here is also usually provided in the same vein and all too often seems to be provided without knowledge or acknowledgement that other viable styles really do exist.
That's not to say that there is anything wrong with striving to produce "proper" photos; I limit myself to that type of photography because I enjoy doing it so much. Even so, I thoroughly enjoy viewing the other styles of photography that don't conform to those norms.
Binner...I would have no difficulty in displaying that picture in my living room.
One of the best images from you so far...a work of true talent....... amazing indeed![]()
I really like this image.
Only thing I might try is to select the areas of high light and color and give them a little more punch.
Just me.
I think I see what you were going for, Binnur. There are two thing about the image that bother me. The fog/haze is a bit too blue IMO. A bit more towards neutral would be more to my own taste. The second thing is that the foreground material is not very attractive.
Beat me to the punch. I don't have a problem with the exposure but there seems to be a colour cast Binnur. Might be worth neutralising it and maybe even adding a little artificial mist to the lower part of the image to beef up the atmosphere aspect. It's a very nice image all the same.
beautiful image Binnur, I like the mood.![]()
It has a lot of drama there, Binnur -- with the fog and all, the orange tree stood out best. I can understand why you processed it this way and I guess brightening it will not be as effective for what you are showing us here...I like it the way it is...
