Wow, that made me dizzy. Nicely captured and converted.
Me too! Nice punchy conversion for the mono though.
Great idea Sam, I like them both but love the processing on the colour version.
Nice work
Both very nice Sam
Superb image and classic conversion
Looking up is a great idea. I gets you images that others miss and walk by. While the B&W conversion is nice, I find that it doesn't work for me, as the view is already rather abstract and monochrome adds an additional layer of abstraction that hinders, rather than helps the viewer, in this case.
I like both very much, but the colours and interplay of light in the first image makes it my favourite. Really nicely processed.
Terrific concept executed perfectly! For me, the cool colors of the sky juxtaposed with the warm colors of the land make that version look luscious and help define the abstract characteristic of the curved line formed where the sky meets the land. The monochrome version loses all of that and, thus, doesn't work for me at all.
I too prefer the color.
An excellent shot, but like John, it made me feel dizzy. I think it is because of the mass at the top. I tried rotating it both 90 degrees clockwise and 180 degrees, and in both cases, it was less dizzying that way.
One of the primary attributes of the first version is that makes us feel dizzy. I can't imagine why you would remove that element, but that's just my way of looking at things.
Excellent image, Sam...very dizzy-ing effect. Did you lie down on a tarp to get this shot? I need a headache tablet...
that conversion really worked; dizziness doubled though
