Chamundeshwari Temple Tower, Chumundi Hills, Mysore, India

This tower was likely built in the 17th century and is part of a well known temple that is located high in the hills, overlooking Mysore, India. I finally had a chance to take a architectural shot during "golden hour".

Nicely captured, almost missed the monkey.

Might be my monitor but it looks over processed.

Don't tell me you didn't use any polarizer here either...it was nicely exposed...OK...the monkey do not belong anywhere but I will guess they are part of the environment there. The monkeys there are a nuisance so did you get to feed those monkeys?

Here's the SOOC jpeg; shot at "neutral" camera settings. Set the black point and white point and the sky darkens up; move the gamma to slightly reduce the brightness and the sky goes "wow".

The image has a tiny bit trimmed off the top and bottom, some dodging and burning as well as removal of the branch sticking out of the top right hand corner. I run most of my images through the Nik Color Efex Pro Contrast filter (enhances the relief in the carving). That's it for the PP.

No polarizer was used. I had one in the car, but didn't have it along at the temple (in fact I haven't used it at all on this trip, because I'm concerned about losing the 1-1/2 stops of light).

No we did not feed the monkeys; some people did. I got some pictures of the monkeys, but haven't posted any.

Incredible detail. Imagine how many hours of labor went into that place. Nicely captured.
