Most people would be unaware that the Bee Gees grew up and started performing in Redcliffe on the northern outskirts of Brisbane. As young boys, they emmigrated here from England with their parents. In recent times, a special avenue called The Bee Gees Way has been created in honour of "our boys" and this shot was taken there this morning. Barry Gibb has visited on two occasions to open the two stages of the project. Sadly Robin and Maurice are no longer with us and the Bee Gees are no more. But their music lingers on ....

PS : The choice of the name "Bee Gees" is credited to a local DJ called Bill Gates (BG) who took them under his wing and gave them the opportunity to perform. I remember hearing them once live when they were very young and even then, their harmony was incredibly good.
