    Bull Riding

Went to a National Professional Bull Riders event last night. A good bit of action, but I was also looking for the background shots. C & C always.

Interesting set Dean and well captured. Is the leg brace in the first image part of standard prep. or is he protecting an injury perhaps?

Orthopedic evaluations of Neanderthal skeletons indicate that they suffered the same type of injuries (probably from fighting huge beasts while hunting) as are common with today's rodeo riders...

Thanks for viewing. John 2, the brace is for previous injuries. BTW, he also wore one on his right leg.

Good and interesting real action shots. Some noise in the roof area of #3 but understandable considering the conditions.

What is that guy inside the barrel in the third picture? Why is he even there?

He distracts the bull when the rider is thrown off so hopefully the bull wont attack the downed rider.

Izzie, Mark answered you question. There were five bullfighters plus the guy in the barrel. These photos were shot on Friday night. Saturday night there was a bullfighter trainee from Spain fighting his first American bulls; he was gored in the thigh and hospitalized.

If he distracts the bull, then the bull goes after him and the way he looks, can he just roll inside that drum and hide inside? He looks like a rolly-polly. 'Must be hard getting around in that...
