    The melt off

In January we had a monster snow storm visit us here in Virginia. The storm brought about 15" to Richmond where I live and record amounts to many localities. I work in an emergency operations center so i'm never able to get out in interesting weather events when they happen as I'm usually pulling a 12 hour shift for days on end. As usual, it was only several days after the storm that I was able to get out and enjoy the snow, after most of it had melted away.

I like it, I just wish the picture was wider.

You know, it would have been nicer if you just caught the shadow without the sun glaring at you pretty much how Donald did his shot by the beach recently. Just a thought.

Thanks for the thought Izzie; having the sun in the frame this way was absolutely on purpose but I know that its not to everyone's taste. If I had been able to stop down more I might have been able to show that more as a sun star formation perhaps.
