    My Wife collects pigs

Browsing the archives I came across this very early record of a couple of them... imperfect for sure but fun I think

Very cute! In the text, add an apostrophe to indicate "whatsit is." I would also add a comma after "you," but that might be more a preference than a point of correct grammar.

Aw...Mike...did you just suddenly decide to become the grammar police? I like the word whatsits without the apostrophe...I think it is cute.

Very nice find John...how many shelves has your wife's collection occupy by now? Just curious. I collect playing cards from everywhere I have been and my granddaughter has started collected frogs.

When we first got together 16 years ago my partner said she had a weakness for pigs - although she is vegetarian. She said that's why she stayed with me.

    I'm still mulling over that...

They range from glass about 3/4 inch long to wooden ones about a foot and live all over her pensioner flat, shelves tables etc. wherever there is room to drape themselves, the cloth ones ... edging out the teddy bears she picks up, cleans and donate at Xmas. Last pig to arrive is a shampoo container I gather, last Christmas, came from a drugstore/pharmacy. Some years back she said 'enough' but they still get acccepted in moderation

John, You have my utmost heartfelt empathy. Mrs ucci is also an avid porcophile and has been collecting them for over 40 years from all over the world, many of them at considerable cost. Most are fairly valuable as she is very selective in what she acquires. If only I could flog them, John, you and I would have more than enough drinking money to see us out comfortably for the rest of our lives. Fortunately she has now slowed down on the collecting bit. Not a cash flow problem but a lack of storage space issue. Many now have to reside in boxes, cluttering up my shed! How many bloody pigs does a person really need?

    Can any of them fly?

You have enough acres to make another shed, Ken...one day you all have fun opening those boxes.

I can only speak for those which I have donated to her and none were purchased outside NZ ... so I guess the answer is 'NO'

My Mom collects ducks and my father speaks quite loudly due to hearing loss...he also has been know to swear. So you can imagine my mother's horror when she was looking at a pig in a shop and looked toward my father when he said something that rhymes and went something like this "Not another f***ing duck!"

I think she left the store quite quickly...without the duck...

PS - I hope the allusion to inappropriate language does not offend...I will remove the post if it does.

Definitely raw. You can tell by the pigment.
