    Chinese Nets

Traders in the 13th Century that traveled to Kublai Khan's China brought this design of fishing net to India. A large net, with stone counterweights are used for fishing in Kerala State, in India. Here are a few shots of these nets. I don't recall seeing this design being used by Chinese fishermen.

I'm not 100% happy with these shots; I only have my little Panasonic GX7 along and my post-processing tools are somewhat limited.

Purely photographically I like the first shot best. But the third one best demonstrates how the net system works. Tough subject to shoot. Nicely done.

Does Manakkodam ring a bell? That seems to be the name of the lighthouse at this location.

I am with Dan's comments. The first one is really good and #3 though a complicated system seems to explains how it is done..

The series works well to show the structure and function of the nets Quite intriguing.

I quite like the second with the repetition of lines. Very evocative and peaceful.

I think the fact you had a smaller camera is quite irrelevant to the success of the images.

They are not bad for on screen display, but as someone who likes making prints, these are a bit limiting

Really nice set - no.2 especially for its composition, and your GX7 is serving you well on this trip.
I have just bought a gx7 to use as a handy walk-about camera for travelling 'light'. I would like to see these image files processed using your 'main' system when you are home again (when you can get 'round to it).
