Afon Mellte & Sgwd Isaf Clun Gwyn - Taken last September

This is a photograph I took last year and completely overlooked.

I haven't processed it in my usual style as I don't think it would do it any justice, it is such a beautiful place especially at that time of day. (8.10am)

    C&C welcome...

    Thanks for viewing.

    Thanks both!

Dave its a great spot, theres a lot of waterfalls in that area and they are plagued by tourists. This one is off the beaten track and can be difficult to get to, so there are normally very little people around... I had the place to myself when I took this

Beautiful image and nicely processed. It has a painterly quality to it.

Really a lovely looking spot, Matt. Worth visiting in various weather/lighting conditions if it's within easy reach. IMO it is shot a bit too wide. I'd keep the same aspect ratio and crop by pulling in the right side by 10 percent or so. Or alternatively pull the upper right corner down/in until the right side moves by the same amount. If that makes any sense. Basically eliminate the sky and pull the right side in about to the prominent vertical branch.

It really is a beautiful place, full of everything that creates a tranquil atmosphere. My response is somewhat similar to Dan's in that it is well worth working the possibilities to exhaustion. I love these kinds of locations but find that, rather than capturing everything in view, it is worth identifying the main elements that grab me and try to give them prominence through composition (moving about and varying focal length) and subtle pp.
Don't you wish sometimes that you could levitate around the location to find the sweet spot.
Nice one Matt. Love the colours and textures.

Cheers Dan, I did play with that idea during PP but I decided not to crop it that much and I can't remember why now?

I like that Matt and admire your enthusiasm to get there at that time of day. Looks even better in lightbox but I would agree that something like Dan's suggested crop would finish it off.

    - That is Welsh for you!

Translated to English it roughly means "River Mellte & Lower Fall of the White Meadow"

I waded across and climbed up a tree, but I'm sure you can just follow the river down on that side?

A wonderful image. I like that you left most of the sky out as I suspect it was dull and mostly colorless. A place I would want to hang out there for a long time.
